Remarks
The college's that I had applied are JIM Lucknow, IMI Kolkata, SIBM Bengaluru, EMPI New Delhi, Lexicon Mile Pune and so on. In JIM Lucknow, the admission criteria were the entrance exam marks(preferably CAT), communication skills, and the ability of a candidate.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of the curriculum and the subjects taught. Our institute provides the basic subjects required for PGDM in the initial phase in order to provide the students a gist of all the genres. There are also an adequate number of faculty in the institute and students could contact them in case of any queries. Our faculty are highly qualified. Most of them have a PhD degree along with a degree in management. Each of the faculty has a unique teaching method and they have well equipped themselves with both online as well as offline mode. Our exams are timely. We also have quizzes, assignments, Vivas, guest sessions and so on during the trimesters for our continuous evaluation. The end trimester exams were mostly case-based which helped assess the learning and the implementation of the same by the students in various situations.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides both paid and unpaid internships. Companies such as Amazon, Asian Paints, Tata Consumer and so on visit the campus for internships and some of them provide PPOs as well. Both paid and well as unpaid internships are provided and the students can choose accordingly with respect to their domain of specialization.
Placement Experience
Our placements start from 4th trimester, that is, from August and remain till the end of the course. Various companies such as Deloitte, Anil, HUL, HCL, Careers 360 and so on various our campus for placements. Even the students who have been offered PPOs from their internships can sit for the placements. The packages are also quite good.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of batch 2020-22 includes a tution fee of 1015000 and a hostel and mess fee of 294000 in a regular scenario. For students scoring above 85 percentile in CAT, there was a 50% tution fee waived scholarship. Since I also scored 85 percentile in CAT, I got the scholarship too. In addition to that, the institute also provided financial support to the students who had lost their earning members due to Covid-19. We were also provided internships and live projects from the college, both paid and unpaid. Other scholarships such as IDFC 1st scholarship and so on were provided to the students for their financial support.
Campus Life
The campus life at Jaipuria Lucknow is worth mentioning. We have various fests and events going on for the overall development of the students. The major among them are OJAS (Annual cultural fest), MASHAL (Annual sports fest), E-TALAASH (For the Freshers), E-WEEK (Annual entrepreneurship fest), and so on. The course books and other books are easily available in the library. The classrooms also have projectors, mics and so on to make it more interactive and engaging. We also had various clubs, committees, cells and so on which we student driven. The committees and cells were supervised by the faculty and each catered to different spheres of the institute. They are: Media, Public Relations and IT Committee, Sports Committee, Alumni Relations Committee, Research Committee, CEFB-Family Business, CEFB-Incubation and so on.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is really good. The rooms are air-conditioned. We have double rooms. 2nd years can also opt for 3-bedded rooms where are more spacious. We are provided with regular cleaning, AC maintenance, sanitation, and other services. We are also provided with WiFi which is regularly monitored in case of any issues. The food quality is really good. It is provided by a caterer service and we have different menus for each day of the week. The menus are regularly revised as per the discussion with the students, hostel in-charge, floor in charges, warden, and the caterers. We also have to register ourselves upon reaching the hostel for the first time and have to do the same if we are going on a vacation or a trip or to our home. In addition to that, regular entries are done every time a student leaves or returns to the hostel. We also have a gym, table tennis board and so on for recreational purposes. The lounge area is also spacious. Overall, it is good.
Interview Experience
On the GD-PI day, we first verified our documents and then proceeded with the GD, followed by the PI. The GD was a situation based one where we were had to chose the best candidate among the ones provided in the case and had to then discuss why we chose them over the others. It was a healthy discussion where we put forth our points accordingly. For the GD, I had studied current affairs in order to be more well equipped. The next was the PI round where we were first asked whom we chose in the case and why. While some were asked to introduce themselves, most weren't. Our PI was more like a discussion where we were asked to talk about our role models and the reason we chose them. We also provided a gist of our personal and educational background. Furthermore, basic concepts and current affairs regarding our past educational background were asked. I had prepared for the PI by assessing my major strengths, weaknesses, achievements and so on in order to be able to be well prepared.
