Remarks
SIES College, Nerul has a brand name and is very well known for its Commerce courses, although the Science courses are almost at par with the Commerce ones. Ideally, the admission process is - first, you need the form for applying for a course, which is Rs. 100 per form/course. You can opt for multiple courses at the time of registration. At a given date, you must submit that form along with the other required documents, such as self-attested Aadhar, Class 12 results, and so on. After 3-4 days, the college brings out its first list. If your name is on the list, you will need to submit a demand draft of the fees for the Sem-1 of the course you will choose to opt for along with the original certificates (which will be given back to you once you graduate). The second list and the third list are published with a gap of one week. I preferred SIES Nerul because I had heard of it through word of mouth, I knew some of their alumni who have amazing careers now, and lastly, their fests are #1 in town. There is no entry fee for concerts, unlike other colleges. I have seen well-known celebrity artists perform at Siesons, like Sanam, Farhan Akhtar, Jonita Gandhi, Ankit Tiwari, Salim-Suleiman, and the Local Train to name a few.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is under Mumbai University. The course curriculum is as per Mumbai University as well. The faculties are all student friendly, the teaching methods are such that students can easily grasp the concepts. They also encourage participation in group presentations and debates which help in the overall development of a child. The portion was completed atleast two weeks prior to the examinations and enough revision was taken as well.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from Sem 6, however they can do internships in the previous semesters. Some of the companies who have visited for campus placements are Tata, Flipkart, ICICI, KPMG and others. Quite a good number of students get jobs in placements.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The cost to study for BAF was round 130000 total for six semesters. There are certain financial assistances given, such as free course books for under privileged children with a percentage of 80%, compensations for people coming rom afar - train and bus fees were paid.
Campus Life
The campus is abuzz with groups and activities. There are a lot of groups, such as Women's development cell, NSS, Rotary clubs. Each department has its own fest, as well as there is a College Fest, called SIESONS. The library is spacious, and filled with reference books as well as novels. There is also an anti ragging policy at SIES, so new students need not be worried and are welcome to apply for any committee or cud of their choice.
Admission
No test or interview was held for admission into a course. The admission process was done entirely on the percentage of the students after giving their 12th Board Exams. There is no bar of students who are coming from State Boards or CBSE.
