Galgotias University

Galgotias University provided me the course of my interest i.e., CSE (Computer Science & Engineering). The campus infrastructure is really good, academic & research support is also pretty good and the institute actually provides 100% placement assistance. The online admission portal became active during May 2016. I applied through their website and entered my details. There were two categories of application - 1) Admission through GEE (Galgotias Entrance Examination), which according to every student is very easy to crack2) Direct admission considering your score in boards and JEEI got direct admission in the field of my interest and kept it as backup while applying for others colleges as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get call from many colleges. Those who did, were not offering CSE. So, I had to go with my backup. In July 2016, i decided to complete joining formalities and went to the institute. To my interest what i got to know is that the so-called campus 1 of Galgotias University, which is located near knowledge park 2 metro station, pari chowk is not actually a part of University itself. Campus 1 is actually affiliated to AKTU while Galgotias University campus 2, near Buddh International Circuit (which is 15km away from pari-chowk) is Deemed. But since they are both a part of Galgotias private institutions so they can you any of the campuses for their resource utilisation.Since i did not give AKTU entrance examination so, I only had option to get admission at Campus 2. After completing joining formalities, i went to visit campus 2 where i had to spend my next 4 years. The place looked good from the outside. It constitutes of 4 buildings in total namely A block, B block, C block and D block (which is boys' hostel and mechanical workshop at ground floor). Out of these, C block was under construction. Other blocks looked good from the inside too. There is a cafeteria as well which consists of some good brands like Italian bistro. All classrooms have projector systems installed. There are separate auditorium halls and specialized labs. Every classroom has AC setup but it works occasionally. The academic session started from September 2016. They had a prepaid academic calendar for completion of year 1 on time and was followed up pretty strictly. Professors are really supportive and helpful. Apart from academics extracurricular facilities are also there, which i can say are just satisfactory. I joined basketball team in year 1 and went to a few tournaments but always faced issues when it came to requesting

I chose Computer Science & Engineering because i was interested in this field. Faculties at Galgotias University are always reachable and supportive to clear doubts and guiding students.The facility to student ratio is around 1: 30. Faculties are experienced and try to make learning as understandable as possible. The Term exams are always on time and they are created as per the curriculum passed by NBA and UGC. Exams are not very tough. If a student is familiar and has gone through the content once then it is more than sufficient to get a decent score in exams.

Placements are very good at Galgotias. During final year, each and every student has to attend a boot camp of around 2 month which mainly focuses on grooming communication and quantitative skills of students. Along with boot camp, University also trains students on technical skills during the final year making them corporate ready beforehand. Once the time of placement arrives, the placement department assists students in every way possible so that each and every student could get a job offer in hand before the completion of final semester.During my placement time, companies like Amazon, Idea, Byju's, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys etc. visited the campus. There were more than 70 companies which visited the campus during first two months of placement drive. By the end of these two months, almost every student got placed. Most of the students walked away with multiple offer letters in hand. I myself got placed in 3 companies.The Kind of exposure and confidence Galgotias university has given to me is really impressive. I am happy with my decision of choosing Galgotias University.

Fee structure is well defined on university's website. University also provides scholarship to students and has an elaborated criterion for that as well. In campus placement opportunities are also very good. By the end of 4th year, i got placed in TCS, Infosys and cognizant. Out of these 3 i chose TCS. Almost every student gets placed by the end of final year. University's placement cell trains students beforehand and tries to assist every student as much as possible so that each and every student gets equal opportunities for job and placements.

Campus life is not to enticing, but it is good. The infrastructure and facilities are good. There are a lot of clubs which one could be a part of. There's an annual fest that takes place every year named 'GQasar' which is really good. Popular singers and artists are invited every year to make the occasion much more exciting. Many tech fests also take place every year and there's always an active environment around the college. Many movie promotions have taken place at Galgotias like Dishoom, Manmarziyan, PadMan and star casts of those movies also visit the campus. Coming to academic life, The classroom facilities are good. Every classroom has projector systems installed as well as speaker and mic connections. There are 3 libraries, which are a primary spot for learning during college.
