My Experience at DBS, Dehradun

There were so many reasons for me to take admission in this college as first off, the placement rate is 100% and the highest package offered is 11 lakhs per annum. Further, the facilities like sports complex, computer lab, library, classrooms, cafeteria, transport, medical tieups and others are provided in our college. Also, the course curriculum is well designed, faculties are highly qualified and we are provided summer internship program and industrial visit facilities. Most importantly, ranking wise, our college is at the first position in business schools in Uttarakhand and is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University and approved by AICTE/UCG. Then, to take admission I registered myself first and further filled the application form and paid the application fee of Rs. 750 in online mode. Further, on the basis of my 10th, 12th, graduation marks and score in MAT exam, I got shortlisted for the selection process where I faced an Interview and lastly, I got admission offer letter. Next to that, I reserved my seat by depositing the course admission fee of Rs. 35000/- through online mode.

Our college follows semester system and we have total of 4 semesters in MBA program. Our course curriculum comprises of 8 subjects in each semester along with the summer internship of 2 months after second semester. Also, our course curriculum is designed in a way where we get basic knowledge along with the industry interface. Further, Business Aptitude and Skill Enhancement (BASE) and BASE STAR which is value added certification programs are included in 3rd and 4th semester of our course curriculum. Moreover, the faculty members of our program are rich blend of academicians and professionals with having experience of beyond 10 years. Our faculties help us in analyzing the business problems and the solutions for solving it. Also, the way to apply theoretical inputs to real life situation is being taught by our faulty member and the guest lecturer from industrial background.

Top recruiters that involve in placement drive are American Express, ICICI Bank, ITC, Paytm, Tommy Hilfiger, IndusInd Bank, Infosys and many other. Last year, the highest salary offered was 11 LPA and the average package witnessed was 7 LPA. Also, the placement percentage has been 100% since it's beginning. Prior to placement session, our college conducts pre-placement talk, training session to enhance our personality, managerial skills, etiquettes, organizational behaviour to get placed in a single go. This is the reason I have decided to sit in the placement drive and get a job to gain working experience.

The fee structure for MBA program at DBS is 5 lakh for two years including admission fee, tuition fee, security money, university examination fee. However, I paid extra amount for hostel and mess expenses. Further, our college also provide scholarship for both undergraduate and postgraduate program. So, for MBA program, scholarship is provided on the basis of CAT, MAT, XAT, and CMAT score with minimum of 60% marks in graduation. Also, the tuition fee waiver vary depending on the percentile in the management competitive exam. Moreover, this scheme remains open for first 15% seats in each program on the basis of first come, first served. Also, our college provide educational loans to those in need through partner banks like State Bank of India, Syndicate Bank, Punjab National Bank and others

Our college keeps on organising several extra curricular activities for our development. The best part is that no one else organises instead we(students) are responsible for managing such activities. Also, our faculty encourages us to take part for us to groom and get exposure. Furthermore, our college has different clubs like drama club, dance club, movie club, music club, the backpackers, wellness club, sports club for various sports, public speaking club wherein we conduct different activities constantly with full zeal. Apart from all above, we are taken to industrial visit and on tour to Goa, Manali, Mussoorie and other places. Lastly, we have got so many facilities in our campus including WiFi connectivity, multi cuisine cafeterias, well equipped seminar halls and other,.
