Course Curriculum Overview
Electrical Engineering is one of the core subjects in which I'm interested in which motivated me to pursue a BTech in the same field. The faculty to student ratio per class is about 1:10. Most of the faculty teaching the course has a doctorate in relevant subjects. The faculties which don't have a doctorate are pursuing Ph.D. and are part of ongoing research in their field. Exams are always conducted on time and taken seriously. The exam pattern is that 2 Unit Tests and 2 In-Semester Examinations are conducted which are followed by the End Semester Examination.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are made available to students right from their First-Year itself with roles varying from Student Partner to Junior Intern, Senior Intern, etc. In order to be promoted from the second year to third year, a 1 month industry training/internship is mandatory. In the 8th Semester as well, in order to be eligible to graduate, one must complete a 6-month internship, or successfully publish 2 research papers or own a startup with a minimum of 500 clients.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placements in their 7th semester. Various core companies and IT companies come for campus recruitment. The average package offered is 3.15LPA. The percentage of placements is about 90% excluding those not appearing for the campus because they want to pursue higher education. My plan after graduating is to pursue a Master's degree in the USA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees at the time of my admission in the academic year 2018-19 was Rs.1,19000. The latest fee structure can be found on the college website. Scholarship opportunities are made available and students are encouraged to apply for them. If eligible, scholarships starting from a minimum of 50% off in tuition fees are applicable. On-campus jobs are not so common but if a student needs one, they are made availabe.
Campus Life
Various Departmental Activities, as well as Club activities and Events, are going on all round year. The annual college fest named Virangula is conducted every year without fail with the exception being 2021 in response with covid-19. The library has a collection of 108431+ volumes, 39255+ titles as well as 7254e-books. All classrooms are smart classrooms with touchscreen whiteboards. The college has various sports teams which bag man awards each year under the guidance of excellent coaches. Various technical and non-technical clubs provide the student opportunity to explore various aspects of education.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels have shared rooms with 3 students living in each room with a common 6 toilets and 6 bathrooms for a lobby of 6 rooms. The food menu in mess is regulated by the Hostel Rector under the guidance of a pediatrician. The quality of food is strictly monitored and is usually better than the food available in mess outside the hostel campus. The hostel rent is Rs.20,000 for the boys' hostel. The facility of laundry, and the doctor is available at the included price. The hostel campus is located beside the college campus.
