Sai Shankar Patra's Review On NIST University, Berhampur

I joined NIST through OJEE. I managed a decent rank in the 1200's in the state entrance tests. I attended the counselling and was offered a seat in many other institutes as well, however i got to know of the qualitative education and plethora of opportunities provided during campus drives at NIST from one of my seniors. Considering that this was a good college i instantly opted for this college.

This college being affiliated to BPUT follows their curriculum, but special care is taken to make students industry ready by offering additional courses which are relevant with current industry needs. This comes in handy once the student starts his professional career.

When we were students the BPUT curriculum did not mandate internships, however considering the new requirements at BPUT which need you to complete an internship, i am sure that the college administration will leverage its industry association and alumni network to offer students internship opportunities at the best work places around India.

Despite being in a remote location of this state, the college boasts of a great placement record. Every batch almost boasts of 100% placement in companies of repute like SAP, Broadcom etc. The package offered varies anywhere between 4 lakhs per annum to 15 lakhs per annum.

The college conducts an annual Tech and cultural fest, which is very well organised and there is representation from various other colleges in these events.

The college offers a very conducive campus atmosphere, with a perfect mix of people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. The gender ratio is also perfectly balanced.

The college can do better here as there is no proper alumni network in place, however considering that we have access to linked and other professional networking sites, you can locate seniors or alumnus of this college and they are more than ready to help.

The college being affiliated to BPUT, follows the exam schedule suggested by the university.

My college boasts of the best of faculty both in terms of educational qualifications as well as experience. Most of the teachers here are highly qualified and associated in advanced research projects, this kind of exposure means that the students get a chance to know the latest updates in the world of technology. I feel privileged to have enjoyed the tutelage of this group of academicians.
