Remarks
I chose to take admission to MIT because it is a well-known institution that also provided a great curriculum for the course which I was planning to pursue. I was looking to pursue International Business and MIT provides a perfect blend of subjects and options. It has dual specialisation courses which fascinated me. As an individual gets to explore new subjects along with the existing curriculum. The Admission usually opens after the 12th board. It consists of a simple 2-3 pages form which takes all your details. It's not necessary to have your marks card for entrance as MIT has its own Entrance curated for admission. Marks card is required if you are looking for getting Scholarship, that also deduction in fees is given if you have scored 85+ percentage in 12th grade. I heard about MIT from one of my seniors as well as my teachers who guided me during my admission procedure.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BBA in International Business because I was planning to pursue my further studies in a foreign country, So this course seemed relevant according to those aspects. MIT has a great curriculum that includes a theoretical and practical blend of academics. Some of the subjects are Business taxation, International Business in Service Sector, International Business in Agriculture Sector, Ethics in Management, French and German, etc. The Student-Teacher ratio is 1: 80. Each class contains 70-80 students depending on the admissions. The faculty is well qualified and very knowledgeable. The teaching method used is smartboard with a combination of audio, videos, and teaching. We are also taken to field tours one of our visits was to the AMUL industry, and Chitale Industry to explore the working and manufacturing of products. MIT follows a Trimester pattern, we have term exams after every 90-100 days interval depending on the portion. The exams curated are student-friendly.
Internships Opportunities
We have to do an internship in our 2nd year. Wherein we got more than 50 options of opportunities. The opportunities were to work from home. The companies we got were Times Of India, Sakal Newspaper, Mit Cell, and many other local companies from Pune. The clarity of projects and tasks was very clear. We were supposed to do a minimum 45-day internship. We got an option to either choose from companies which were given on campus also we could do a off-campus internship too.
Placement Experience
Yes, placements are offered on campus, as I am still not in my final year so have no idea how the Placement procedure goes. But the institution will brief us soon about the same. My plans are to pursue my further studies at a foreign Institution. So I will mostly be not taking placement from the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is divided into three instalments of 75000 INR each which is supposed to be paid on a quarterly basis. The Scholarship is provided to individuals who have scored 85% and above in their 12th grade. The Institutions provides a 3 months tenure to every student in the second year to acquire experience via internships. It provides on-campus placements as well as we can take off-campus opportunities too. This year due to a pandemic we were given chance to do work from home internship and there were more than 50 opportunities provided by the placement cell of MIT. Also, pre-internship training was provided in order to break the ice.
Campus Life
Overall Mit has various events going on every month which are very enthusiastic, fun and student-initiated, Students are given an opportunity to participate and organise actively. The various events and fests that are conducted yearly are Enthusia, Under 25 Summit, Aarohan etc. We have access to the library all time. The classrooms are smart and comfy. Sports and extracurriculars are not paid much attention. It's you who has to push yourself into such activities if you are interested. There are more than 20 clubs on campus that are run by students, the clubs are as follows Entrepreneur club, Dance club, Music Club, Sports Club, Trekking Club, Adventure Club, Orators Club, Drama club etc.
Hostel Facilities
I was in a PG room with three mates. My experience was okayish as the rooms were less hygienic and the food wasn't that great. It was an affordable stay but with a lack of amenities. I had a lot of adjusted survival there. I would recommend looking for a better PG and know the reviews first before enrolling.
Interview Experience
Yes, so basically the entrance consists of three levels. The first level starts with an entrance Aptitude test which is online of 100 marks, to qualify for the next level you must score at least 35 and above. After the Aptitude test, there is a group discussion. where the individuals are divided into a group of 10 people and alloted 1 moderator for the same. The topics are variously related to technology, health, current issues etc. Out of 10 topics, the group members have to come to conclusion by choosing one topic. Everyone gets 1 minute to explain their stance and after that everyone starts discussing and the moderator observes. My topic for discussion was is the rise of technology in all the sectors is a boon or a curse. At last, we had a personal interview. The personal interview is based on the answers you write on a sheet of the questionnaire before. The questionnaire consists of common questions like habits, hobbies, current knowledge, interests, career options etc.
