Summer Internship

I have filled the GLIM Chennai form just like other colleges to keep my options open. Once I got the call for Interview, I started doing my research about the GLIM. In 2012-13 Pagalguy was the most sorted portal and it has some honest reviews about the GLIM Chennai. One of the thing which had mixed review over the thread discussion is that few years back GLIM has moved its City campus to 70Km away from Chennai. But trust me this was the one of the best thing to have. So my Interview went smooth and its was mostly on My Work , My decision to go for MBA and what diversity I might bring in for the batch. Few weeks later I got the admission letter along with few other colleges I had given the Interview. But I found GLIM had 1. World class faculty 2. Guest Lecture from Industry Stalwarts 3. Best Campus 4. Low Batch size. So this all made my decision easy and I became the Great Lakers.

The course was meticulously designed and it suits the specialization the person choses in his 3rd Sem. Most Importantly all the Majors like Marketing , Finance and Ops are being Headed and Taught by the Industry Experts. The GLIM faculty were not Just teachers but the Mentors for life. The exams were not that difficult. Most of the exams were based out of case studies.

The Interview process was really smooth and most of the candidates requiring the internship from college has got it. The companies which provided the Internships were Axis Bank, Isuzu, Ashok Leyland , Coca-Cola, RJ Corp, Idea etc. Almost 80 % internship were paid.

The campus placement started in Nov month. By March almost 95% batch mates were placed. The major recruiters were cognizant , TCS , HDFC Bank, Accenture , Axis Bank, Airtel . ICICI Bank , Mind Tree etc. The average CTC was around 8 lakhs per annum.

The fees was on bit higher side but the facility it provides like Sodexo mess with 4 meals a day , AC rooms dual shared, Clean Hostels, Large classrooms etc were the best in this sector. Financial assistance were available with tie ups with the banks like Axis Bank and others. Campus Jobs were as promised. Our batch of 113 people out of which 7-8 people have opted out of placement due to Family Business were very well Placed. Around 95% of our batch was placed before the final semester exams. Though there were some big companies we really missed during our placement season as they dnt turned up for hiring.

Campus life was really good. The campus is like a vibrant city . Every person has its on dream and passion. It was the campus that never sleeps. Even at night 4 AM you can find some activities. There were lot of clubs and Each students need to part of at least 1 club. The Library was big and 24hrs available. Cafe Coffee Day made life simpler by being on campus. All the classroom were really big and with all tech required. Outdoor Sports has some limited option like Half court Football/Basketball court. Volleyball court, Cricket and Badminton court around hostels.

This was residential course so the fees was included. The Hostel were one of the best we can find across the India. AC room nicely for 2 sharing. House keeping services and very well cleaned washrooms . Mess was Sodexo managed with 3 meals and evening snack in it. Very nice experience.

Interview round was taken. Mine was taken in Bandra Kurla Complex. It was 2 faculty from GLIM who has taken the Interview. Mostly the Interview was about the Work I had done before, My decision to do MBA and Why Great lakes Chennai. Also they tried to find the diversity I can bring in the batch. It was nice and short interview. Don't go beyond 15-20 mins.
