I love my college i wish I could spend more time there management is slow but they do respond at the nick of the time and help you get out of situation before it worsens.

I took JEE, don't exactly remember my score, because you know, once in IIT, job is done IT was a hype during my time and then I was very much interested in materials science. and thus IIT Madras, close to my home town too.

The course curriculum is vivid. You need to ask your seniors about the course before taking it. My elective was on Renewable resources of energy which is quite an interesting topic given the fact that we are moving from non-renewable sources to renewable forms of energy.

But it is only limited to ED department. But one can always take help from professors to find internships.

The placement stats of IIT Madras is very open. One can google search it and look at the pdf i as well might it, its one hell of an experience, the placement season.

Technical include : shaastra, amalgam(MME dept fest), biofest, wavez (nav. arch fest) many more, cultural include : Saarang, Shaastra and Saarang are quite big events. You find the websites and check the dates and participation on the site. It very clear on the site plus, if there are any queries regarding any event, the event hosts are fast to respond.

Campus life is once in a lifetime experience. Living in a campus with deers, monkeys and rare birds is worth the time spent. Talking about extracurricular, there are robot making labs usually called CFI, it is active 24/7, there is astronomy club, cooking club, lgbt community, and people are really happy with each other. We have all kinds of sports facilities. Shaastra and Saarang are the best times you can reveal yourself to the world. But yes, if you want to know more, you gotta live it during Shaastra and saarang.

My hotel was sharavathi for first 4 years and then sabarmati for my final year. Good hostels, the mess was upto survival. The best thing is, after spending time in IIT Madras mess, you will never complain on food. Hostels are made available for every student. Though there are few hotels nearby for parents to stay like Taramani guest house, ginger hotel.

it was chilled out as long as the submissions got postponed. But yeah it was hectic when we wait till the end and finish it in a day.

Pretty amazing faculty I would say. They long to help you as long as you ask them.
