Remarks

Pros: ISHM has international tie-ups with SUIC BANGKOK & PRAYAP UNIVERSITY THAILAND. The institute has been ranked number one in Kolkata for providing hotelier training in five-star hotels and resorts. East India's only institute that provides internships and training in Malaysia and Thailand and as an Air Hostess institute for providing cross-training exposure in Indian flying clubs. The campus has all the basic and necessary amenities, such as a lecture room, food production lab, accommodation operation lab, etc. The admissions to ISHM courses are based on the valid score in the I-CAT entrance exam(ISHM Common Aptitude Test). Cons: Placements- Out of 100, 5% of the students gets placements and the rest gets the certificate. Infra- There's no library, no canteen facilities. Faculty- Teachers are helpful only in favour of the management but not for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

This course was opted mainly by my Counselor according to the percentage of my report cards. The faculty members are good. Teachers teach us in a professional way. The teacher is to student ratio is 20:1. Our professors are highly qualified. Exams were done bi-annually, and oral class tests are done weekly. It wasn't difficult.

Campus Life

2

It has some good infrastructure with an international level kitchen, well-equipped F&B lab (Bar), Well maintained sanitary areas, AC Classrooms, Wi-Fi campus. Classrooms and practical labs both are equipped with high tech features. It gives many exclusive facilities such non-fire commercial kitchen, which no other institutions provide. The kitchen, as well as other labs, are good places to learn.

Hostel Facilities

2

Rooms are congested and too small, with no AC facilities. There are no facilities for foods. We have to cook for our own selves. The washroom is uncleaned. The locality of the hostel is far away from the college campus. Almost 25 mins by walking.

Interview Experience

ISHM offers a total of 10 degrees and diploma courses in full-time mode (UG, PG & DIPLOMA). Qualify exam: I-CAT. Must have passed class 12. Placement Experience:

One thing which is really nice for the college is that they provide placements to their students. There are many companies coming to the college like JW Marriot, Hyatt, Oberoi etc. The college not only gives placement in India but also provides placement worldwide. The average package is around 30000 per annum. If someone is going abroad they can get a higher package than others.
