Remarks
The admission process is pretty simple and similar to the other B Schools. The process involves- Application form- here you need to fill out your details and choose your preferred branch, choose this carefully as at the end college will try to provide you with the one that is most favoured by you. Admission Test- to move forward in the process you got to clear the admission test. College accepts scores of CAT, GMAT, NMAT. They also conduct their own admission test which is IBSAT. GDPI- After clearing the admission test you will receive a letter from the university inviting you for the GDPI process which is conducted in IBS HYDERABAD and this is just a one day process. Over there you got faculties who will help you through the whole process. This always takes place around Feb. A counsellor will be in contact with you from the very start of your admission process and will be present till the end of it to help you out and clear any of your doubts regarding the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
IBS is known for their case based method for teaching. With all honesty, it's a great way to see the real life implications of the concepts that we study, so do take that seriously. As far as concerned about the curriculum I can only speak for IBS Hyderabad as for other branches curriculum differs a bit. In totality, we have 4 semesters and a summer internship program that is conducted after the 2nd semester. The first 2 semesters the focus will be to get your basics strong Then we got an internship program. College does get great companies coming for internships both paid and unpaid and some also provide PPOs. Do read about the company thoroughly before applying for the internships. (this is graded as well) The last two semesters is where you get to select your specialization. All the provided courses will be explained to you by the faculties before you opt for them. Overall the curriculum designed by the university is pretty good.
Internships Opportunities
The university conducts a summer internship program after the completion of the 2nd semester. Students can choose a company on their own or from the ones provided by the university. Stipends are provided but some companies. The roles are offered from all the sectors. As far as I know, the highest stipend is provided by JP Morgan and Cognizant.
Placement Experience
The campus placement is pretty good over here. We get companies from all the sectors. The highest CTC received is around 50LPA in 2020 from Tolaram Groups. The average CTC is approximately 7LPA. This year over 80% of the students were placed. The university does give its best to get the best companies for their placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
With all honesty, personally, I believe that the fees are a bit high, in an offline mode the fees will be approximately 18L including hostel and tuition fees. During pandemic times bridge loan facilities are provided not sure if they were provided earlier.
Campus Life
Can't really talk about that as ours is completely held online. But my brother passed out from here and from what I heard from him campus life is lit. The campus is great overall it is situated on 70+ acres of land in the outskirts, away from the city. We got all kind of clubs over here from dramatics, photography to finance, HR and in other academic areas. Joining clubs has got there on perks such as providing you with internship opportunity etc. To get in a club the student has to undergo an interview taken by the club members themselves.
Hostel Facilities
As mentioned earlier we couldn't have the opportunity to experience campus life. So we didn't have to pay for it. But in an offline mode, it is compulsory. what we have heard is that the food is amazing, every MBA student gets their own room. The hostel had no AC but the school is completely air conditioned. The campus is located in the outskirts of Hyderabad over 70+ acres of land. The campus has got cafeterias that are open pretty much all night that I have heard. Overall the amenities provided are good. The hostel will add approximately from 40k to 50k to your fees
Interview Experience
Yes GDPI is conducted. The topics for GDPI are mostly based on the hot topics prevailing in that situation. It can be academic-based as well for example something that you may or may have not studied previously. This takes place in a group of 8. You get the topic on the spot and get some time to write your points on a paper. The interview questions will be based on your previous experience if you have any and can also include academic based questions. So you do need to be prepared. In my case, two interviewers took my interview. Books and newspapers will be the best way to prepare. Do read about abstract topics for GD just in case.
