International School of Hospitality Management - [ISHM], BBA in Hospitality management + Graduation diploma in aviation and hotel management
Reviewed on May 19, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

Firstly I would like to inform everyone, this is the first college of Kolkata that provides International and dual degree/program courses in a very reasonable price, that's the main thing attracted me a lot. ISHM offers value based quality education of international standards. Even in this pandemic, when other colleges are facing problems in taking classes, we had our freshers party in a five star hotel (westin), we had carnival, we had heritage tour, in which we got the opportunity to visit the heritage sites of Kolkata. I really glad to be a part of ISHM family, I will strongly recommend everyone to take admission in this college for a bright future.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I want to become a cabin crew in future, but I choosed BBA in Hospitality management+ graduation diploma in aviation and hotel management over aviation management because it has so many scopes and the aviation industry itself a part of the hospitality industry. All the teachers are so friendly, and the way they teach everything is really helpful. We are having our practical classes as well. I didn't find the exam tough, if you're passionate enough to work in this industry obviously the books and the teachers are gonna be your best friend, and you won't find the exam tough too.

Internships Opportunities

5

Our college offers paid internship(in 2nd year) and paid On Job Training (in last semester) in well-known Hotels, such as Taj, Marriott, Westin, Hollywood inn, ITC, Novotel, Hyatt, Radisson which help us to gain practical knowledge about the industry.

Placement Experience

5

From the 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement, and ISHM offers placement in different countries and in renowned companies, hotels and airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Taj hotel, Marriott.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees of BBA in Hospitality management are 4,23,000 (3 years), which is very reasonable because the fees include the price of books, dresses and other accessories, and I got a scholarship of 30,000 rupees and also taken education loan from SBI Bank. The college offers placement all over India, as well as in abord.

Campus Life

5

ISHM conducted the ISHM fest carnival in January of this year, and the famous band TRAP and DJ Koyel was invited to the carnival, we really enjoyed the carnival a lot, we also had a heritage tour in February in which we got the opportunity to visit the heritage sites of Kolkata and study about the same. We had a freshers party in Westin hotel.

Interview Experience

5

After fill-up the admission form, I've been told to give an online exam which was about normal general knowledge. The exam wasn't too tough, after that one of the teachers of our batch counselled me, and asked me why I want to study hospitality management. What I want to become in future, And explained everything about this industry and the opportunities that I can get after completing the course.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
