Remarks

The campus environment is quite good and attractive. The maintenance of hostels and mess is comparatively good when compared to other colleges that were considered during the admission process. The admission process is simple and easy. It was done without any hassle and also gave a provision of refund in case of difficulty during summer induction classes before the commencement of the semester. I got to know about the college from my friend who studied in the same college 2 years back and also through reviews on the internet. Surprisingly 90% of the expectations were reached in terms of studies, extracurricular and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I did my specialisation in Marketing and Operations, IT. Mine was dual specialisation with an aspect to enhance my knowledge and skills in two domains of my interest so that it would be beneficial in my career. My faculty always encouraged me to go through the case studies in detail and allow me to participate in class discussion and raise queries so that I could get a clear understanding of all the concepts that are practically implemented in the corporate world. 70% of the faculty did their PhDs and the rest of the professors were associates. Research scholars also played a very important role in helping students complete their assessment projects. Exams and the pattern of testing the students are quite difficult. Almost 60% of the students stay between 5-7 CGPA & only 40% of students stay between 8-9 CGPA. Weekly assessments, monthly assessments & overall semester results will be taken into account while grading. 40% is from internal assessment & 60% from the final term. The faculty: student ratio is 1:5.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship opportunities will be offered in all specialisations. 100% of the strength gets the opportunities. But only very few companies give stipend. Few companies agree to provide stipend but somehow deny at the end stating the reason to college. Certain companies like reliance, Amul, Octo spaces provide stipend from 5000-10000 per month in the roles of Sales and Digital Marketing. Each student will be allotted a mentor to clarify their doubts and to keep in touch so that it is easy to keep track of the tasks and projects.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies start visiting campus by the end of the 3rd semester and continue till the end of the final semester. The average package for the batch of 2019-21 is 8.9 LPA. The highest package for the batch is 13LPA in the field of Marketing, Operations and HR. I am happy that I got selected for the highest package company. It was offered by Vedanta Group. This year 93% of the overall strength got placed and the process is still continuing. It will continue till the end of May, so probably that everyone could get placed in this pandemic situation. Profiles offered by highest package in Vedanta is Management Trainee in the field of Operations, Marketing and HR. The rest of the companies comes for sales profiles though the student is specialised in marketing and Finance. For HR, initially, roles offered are training and later will be moved to recruitment. Each company will try to hire 4-5 people and may also differ based upon the requirement. Bulk recruitment is by Deloitte and ICICI Bank Profiles being varied.

Fees and Financial Aid

Financial assistance was given by all the banks and also for merit students, accordingly the scholarship loans were sanctioned. Based upon semester results and following up certain criteria, the college rewarded with an additional scholarship. Internship and campus placements opportunities were pretty good. In my batch highest package is 13LPA and I am fortunate that I got selected for that highest package company. 93% of the students in my batch to date got placed and 100% summer internships were provided. I got my internship at Octospaces as a digital marketing and operations intern with a stipend of 5000 per month. I got a campus placement at Vedanta Group with a package of 13LPA as a Management Trainee (Operations).

Campus Life

5

Trishna is the annual feast that is been conducted for years at IBS Hyderabad. The average is the sports festival that is been conducted and all other B Schools come to participate. IBS Hyderabad is well known for its club culture and I am happy to be a part of two clubs, the DOT club the official techno-managerial club and the Analytics club. During my free time, I used to visit the library and get avail of all the latest articles and sometimes novels for refreshment. Every week club activities will be conducted and I am proud that my skills got improved after involving in these activities. I was the Vice President of DOT Club and got reputed for organising an International conference on operations management. The club culture, exposure to all cultures of the country made me unique and helped a lot while placements. It improved my soft skills as well as taught me valuable insights for both my personal and professional career.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I opted for an individual room with an attached bathroom. Each room has its own geaser and floor cleaning is responsible by the authorised people. They ensure that rooms were cleaned every week and whenever required. There are two mess rooms each that could accommodate 500 students at a time. It is made sure that everything is available at all the time. Even in hostels, a separate canteen has been maintained all over the night to make sure that students who are night owls could avail that service. Quality is average and not up to the mark because sometimes I feel like not eating because of the quality of the food that hostel management provides. Registration for special rooms was difficult as the procedure involves the submission of health certificates. Shortlisting is fined which sometimes feel like a difficult procedure. That is also done on a first come first serve basis. In hostels, every floor has 2 washing machines making things for students easier. Sanitisation is maintained properly.

Interview Experience

5

Topics for Group Discussion was “In what way Managers are different from Leaders” CAT test pattern contains 3 modules: Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability. In an interview at IBS Hyderabad, the panel asked questions based on my resume and final year project work. I prepared on my own by practising the methods that were prescribed on few websites. I went to TIME Institute to get coaching for CAT. Another criterion for admission is to score decent percentage in graduation.

To settle in the good financial sector and to improve my skills. The student ratio is less in MBA courses. The faculty is less supportive.
