Remarks

While researching, I heard a variety of good and bad aspects about IBS Hyderabad. The student body number was extremely high and competition was fierce. However, this was amazing because it would give anybody attending an edge and a real-world simulation. Quora's posts regarding the same helped as well. Further, I believe the interview process was really smooth and honestly, the amount of projects you can do and the experience you can gain depends on how proactive you are. The rest is being at the right place and networking, which is something you learn. The staff and faculty are amazing and very kind. There are possibilities of expanding your horizons by being part of a club which really instills a sense of teamwork in you. You also fondly look back on the projects you made with your teammates. Case Studies are rich and diverse. There is a variety of ways in which a student can submit academic papers and your decisions, will define who you truly are and what mettle you are made of.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The classes are evaluated on the basis of the class participation of a student during class lectures, their assignments, mid-terms, and end-semester exams. Mostly, the focus should be on the value of concepts you learn and if the faculty is approached, it can easily be done. The courses I chose were a major in Finance and Marketing as a minor. Both have a range of good companies visiting Campus and the subjects would help in creating the segue towards the knowledge and skills required to be able to be a performer in the organization. With amazing faculty who not only teach us in the classroom but also give us their time afterward as well, the experience is truly something you need to be a part of to truly appreciate. On top of this, webinars and conclaves held are the icing on the cake and always insightful. The faculties even help guide you in the relevant certifications and subjects you should choose should you face any difficulties.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is both stipend and non-stipend work. I opted for an internship with a Market Research Company-known as Kantar, Indian Market Research Bureau-as a Market Research Analyst for my internship and had an amazing time! It was excellent as we had worked on Credit Cards and this helped me segue into a Financial Aspect in my Report. There are great value learnings we experienced and will take with us for the rest of our lives and we worked on a variety of projects, appreciating the Market Research and Data Acquisition process even more. If you give it your utmost and work hard from Day 1, there is nobody that can stop you from getting a decent grade along with a good experience from the process. I was blessed to have both my company and my college guide support me and clarify my doubts and queries while reigniting the drive within me to work hard and research on topics in great depth and detail.

Placement Experience

3.5

You become eligible towards the end of the third semester and mostly towards the beginning of the fourth semester. Around more than 90% of the students get placed and the Pandemic may impede the process but it does not come to a standstill.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not gotten any job on Campus. However, I have come across some freelancing jobs and been able to pursue my hand at some solid SEO (Search Engine Optimization) content-related work. Along with this, I have been proactively been a part of live projects of a range of domains to get the full 360-degree flavor of MBA. They were all very insightful and helped me substantially! I also would like to point out that should any student be able to write a paper/case study that gets accepted, there is a remuneration that they are awarded. The best students who have the best academic standing and attendance also get awards at the end of the academic semesters, which counts as a scholarship.

Campus Life

4

As we were taught during the Pandemic, we do not completely know about the classrooms in person, but the professors have shown it to us on some occasions through Google Meet. There are beautiful halls with amazing seating. The library has two floors, is huge, and holds a plethora of books one can read as per their need. There are a lot of Clubs in IBS and each of them holds events, so each of them has their own flagship events. The Club aligns to the domain an individual wants to pursue and helps make an individual be able to use their time in a more constructive manner, polish their skills as well as get in touch with some great opportunities for Live Projects. The Club also allows you to interact with the seniors to get a fair idea of how to improve and what to expect for the upcoming placements.

Interview Experience

4.5

We did have a GD and a PI. GD was simple about whether an individual should be a leader or a follower to succeed in the industry. I had taken preparation from TIME and this was not necessarily a tough topic for me. However, some speakers did fumble. I even managed to ask other speakers who were silent to include their opinions when others were either too enthusiastic or silent, ensuring that my body language was alright. Overall, it was a healthy and fruitful discussion. The PI round had the professors asked me why I chose MBA, what I was planning to do and they did not grill me. I enjoyed the process and it was very smooth.

Other Applied Colleges

ITM, Navi Mumbai | MBA/PGDM

ICFAI had more better reviews from peers, relatives and friends. I also preferred the Harvard case based learning approach.
