Remarks

* This college was the closest government College and it was in my home town Bhawanipatna and it is also one of the best engineering colleges in Odisha and the fees are also affordable * Admission process starts with the JEE mains entrance exam and then you have to give the college preference to get admission here * The fees are affordable for a middle-class family or student as it is a government College and the surrounding and environment and faculties are amazing * Website - www.gcekbpatna.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the B Tech course in Civil Engineering branch of this college as Under Graduate programme as there are very good and experienced facilities here who are graduated from IITs & NITs There are around 15 faculty in every branch and 60 to 120 students in each branch and there are 4 branches and the course is of 4 years All the faculty are MTech and Ph.D. qualified and their teaching method is extremely good except some faculty all are very professional in their field Term exams are conducted once in 6 months and internal exam are conducted twice in 6 months the internal exam is moderate and the semester exam is tough to pass

The college offers internship through Internshala It is a website where many internships are offered Many types of internship are offered like network marketing, coding , software designing , web designing, and many more Project basically works from home and internet-based

Placement Experience

In the 7th semester the students become eligible for the campus placements The companies are INFOSIS , TATA , TECH MAHINDRA, TCS , the highest-paid package offered here is of 14 lack Not all the students get placed around 20% overall get placed The students who get placed generally have secured more than 70% My plan after getting the degree is to join the Indian Armed Forces.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the overall course is really affordable for every middle-class family as it is around 1 lakh without hostel and mess All the books and materials are provided by the college in the library so you don't need to buy stuff E meghabruti scholarship , state portal scholarship, and much more government scholarship help and you can get around 80,000 in 4 years by these scholarships this can also assist you financially & job is provided by on-campus by collaborating with companies like tata, infosis, mahendra etc mostly the CSE students get more placements

Campus Life

There are many annual fest and tech fest conducted like ANUJOONJ, Annual function, insprano , saraswati puja etc mostly these fests are conducted in January, October, and November There are many books in the library more than 5000 books are available and any student can easily borrow the book The classroom has a very friendly environment and cheerful environment Sports and extracurricular activities play a vital role here as several sports and activities are done here like cricket, football, kabbadi , volleyball , badminton and many more, and as well as athletic meets are conducted Dancing, singing and other talents are also Praised There are many groups and clubs like robotics club, photography club , social helping club and many more Website - www.gcek.bpatna.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.
