SRM- a perfect career starter?

I choose this college because of very good reputation and placement records. There are many good things about the college like a very good location, many teachers to help you on one subject, many practical labs as well as racing teams. The college also has very good hostels who have maids to clean up everyday. The food in the mess is not good to be honest. Another con is that it is a big University so you have to travel alot to attend different classes. Usually the paper SRMJEE takes place in march and admission process takes place in may-june and the session starts in july end.

The core branches of SRM are very good because you get hands on practical labs too often. Practical knowledge is very much same as theoretical. The faculties are very knowledgeable. You might face a little issue with them while communicating but it should not be a big issue.

I did my internship in ordinance factory in machine shop with no stipend only to gain knowledge and work on real machines. The experience was good. The role i was offered was maintaining machines while production was taking place.

From 7th semester the placement drive starts. Almost all the major companies visit but not necessarily hire. You have to be really good in your core subject knowledge then it will be very easy. From amazon,flipkart,tata motors,suzuki,cognizant, Accenture,honda etc. Almost everyone comes for hiring. The highest package can even go to 50 lacs per annum but on average 2.5 lacs is the salary offered to most of the people.

Campus life is very fun. Milan fest is the biggest fest in the college. You have celebrity's visiting the college including comedians and singers. Apart from milan almost every month a fest or tech fest takes place. You have a gym in campus and also 2 grounds to play different sports. If you are very talented then you can get into college teams or make your team and compete in tournament and you can become the college team with your friends if you win it. DSA is a group that manages everything in college you can contact them once you reach there and they will surely help you.

The course of btech is of 4 years and fee for a single year is around 3 lacs. You get many scholarship when you enroll in college like foreign study programs are funded to toppers of course who are interested. Placement record is better compared to other you have all major companies visiting here for hiring.

There are 4 different hostels from which you can choose from. All the hostels have around 10 floor and each floor has 15-20 rooms. Only 1 hostel has AC in it. The normal hostels will cost you around 1 lacs per year and the AC one will cost 2 lacs per year including food. The warden is there all the time so no issue should be there. Rare power cuts and if it happens generators are there.

To get admission you simply have to clear their SRM JEE paper. The topics to study is your whole syllabus of class 11 and 12. I would advice to atleast start preparing for SRM JEE along with your boards only.
