Graduate Aptitude Test Entrance (GATE) is required for MTECH courses. MHRD is providing scholarship for GATE qualified students during the course.

Course curriculum is very good. The university of BPUT Odisha designed the curriculum. But the teachers in the college are very good and also highly qualified from reputed institution. Much emphasis was given to research work. Project is evaluated regularly. Focus also given to personal development, skill development.

Yes the college provides internship to both undergraduate and post graduate students in almost every discipline of engineering and humanities. During the internship 2000/- stipend is provided along with free boarding and lodging.

The college has very good placement team. Almost all reputed companies like wipro, infosys, capgemini, TI, etc are coming every year. Nearly 80% students are getting placement. College also provide pre placement training to all the students. To improve the technical knowledge, teachers are taking interview in regular basis.

Many events we celebrated during our college time. Technical festival known as sankalp celebrated each year. Inter college completion related to quiz, robotics, paper and poster presentation, circuit design etc. Sports events are fantastic. Cricket, volley, basketball many games we were organised.

Many scholarship are provided by the government of Odisha as well as some central scholarship. College is providing teaching assistance, research assistance.

We have nearly 60-40 gender ratio. College gives security to the girl students. No ragging, no sexual harassment. Many lady teachers are also available. NIST is one family. College organizes many cultural events among the students, staffs, faculties. Many workshop, seminars are conducted in the college.

Although alumni is there but nit that much active and helpful. Yeas, NIST alumni are very well placed and doing very good.

We dont have any control over the exam structure. The university make a frame we have to follow. There is mid demister examination wihich weights 30 %. University is doing the end semester examination and 70 perctange weightage. Internal exam is very strict in the college.

The faculties are very cooperative. They never harassed to any students. The classes are really interesting. Most of the teachers not used PPT. Experience teachers having good research background are guided for our project work. Sometimes I felt bore for 100 minutes classes in NIST. But the teachers are so great they manage the time very nicely.
