Remarks
I appeared for CAT and secured 80.09%ile, I was sceptical if I would be getting admission to this prestigious institute as I had a borderline score since the cutoff was 80%ile. I put my best foot forward and aced the Theme Development & Personal Interview process which was conducted in the month of February and got an admission offer in early March. I had secured admission to colleges like Welingkar, FORE, BIMTECH, GLIM etc. yet I chose IMNU over them due to numerous reasons. The primary reason being the brand that IMNU associates itself with is renowned worldwide, moreover, it offers a residential campus that too within the city. A residential course for an MBA plays a very crucial role in the overall personality and moral development. Moreover, the institute offers unparalleled sports infrastructure. And we all know the importance of sports in making one learn team spirit and how to work with others. This made me choose IMNU over any other college I had in hand.
Course Curriculum Overview
Marketing is an important aspect of every organization now, if a product is not marketed well it might not get the company the business it deserves, hence I decided to take up Marketing as my specialisation. The faculty to student ratio is decent at IMNU which is about 1:45. All the faculty members have thorough experience in the industry and are from reputed colleges and 80% of them are PhD holders. They are very much approachable within and outside the teaching hours. They put in extra efforts to teach the subjects in the most interesting way and try to give maximum practical exposure. The pedagogy is a mix of theoretical and practical learning and the institute also offers an ample amount of case studies to give more real-time problems. The institute follows a trimester system and the weightage is 60% for CEE (Internals, conducted throughout the trimester) and 40% for TEE (Externals, conducted at the end of every trimester). The exams happen as per the schedule and test your learning.
Internships Opportunities
The institute offers internship opportunities to the students and is able to place 100% of the batch for their summer placements. The average stipend being Rs 15000. Some of the prominent recruiters for summer placement were JP Morgan Chase, EY, Publicis Group, Jio Creative Labs, RBI, Crisil, Infosys, Arvind Fashion Retail, Buhl Data, Safexpress, Ford, Big Basket, Amul, Apply Board, Outlook Group etc.

The placement season commences from the month of September. Infosys being a mass recruiter with about 50 offers each year offering a package of about Rs. 9 lacs, some other prominent recruiters are Ericcson, Byju's, Dell, Schneider Electric, Explora Consulting, Usha International, Smytten, HDFC Bank, Indusind Bank, Tally Solutions, Dassault Systems, Adani Wilmar, Wipro, Neilson, Hyundai, Axis bank etc. With profiles ranging from consulting, business development, market research, to sales. The highest package offered to be Rs 19 lacs and the average package standing at about Rs. 9 lacs. The successfully places 100% of the students with of course exceptions being those who opt for family business and entrepreneurship.
Fees and Financial Aid
Amongst all the colleges in this league, I found the fee of IMNU to be the most reasonable. It offered everything that a B-School offers at a better package amongst all comparable institutes. The fee for the MBA 20-22 batch was Rs.13.5 lacs only and the institute offered a median placement of 9 lacs for the final placement and 15k being the average stipend for the summer internship. Apart from this, no major expenditure was incurred during the course of the program. It offers scholarship to the students, the top 30 students on the merit list to get admission in the institute are offered a scholarship of Rs. 1,00,000 per year. For the economically weaker students, it offers scholarship ranging from Rs. 25000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per year. It also offers an opportunity for the students to earn while they learn by giving them jobs within the university where they can earn some money part-time and study.
Campus Life
The campus is student-driven, the institute has 26 clubs and committees which the students can be a part of. These clubs and committees range from domain-specific i.e. Niche-Marketing, Finesse-Finance, Optimus-Operations, Imprintz-HR to extracurricular i.e. Sumantra-Literary, Chehre- Dramatics, Fiesta- Dance&Music to institutional committees i.e. Media&PR, Placement, Kaizen-Alumni Relations etc. The institute organizes various events, seminars, conferences and workshops throughout the year. Perspective Richter- 10 is the annual fest of the institute and the Nirma International Conference on Management is the annual conference of the institute. The institute is wholly equipped with sports facilities ranging from Basketball, Football, Badminton, lawn tennis, Cricket, Volleyball etc. It also houses a state of the art Yoga hall and a Gymnasium. The students have the access to about 45000 books and journals in the library. And the classroom is state of the art with AC, projector & WiFi.
Hostel Facilities
The MBA and MBA HRM program is residential at the institute. H1 is the Non-AC boy's hostel. The rooms are well furnished and are sharing a room for 2 people with each room having 2 fans, 2 beds, 2 tables, 2 tube lights, a bulb, two side drawers, a centre table, 2 chairs, a mirror, and a balcony, and a mattress. The rooms are well ventilated even though they are without AC. The washrooms in H1 are common and are well maintained. Special care is taken of the hygiene and the rooms and washrooms are cleaned on a daily basis. H2 is the girls' hostel and offers to choose between Non-AC Shared washroom, AC Shared washroom, AC Attached Washroom. H3 is the AC Boys' hostel which offers to choose between AC Common Washroom, AC Attached Washroom. The food offered is of decent quality and offers variety over the week. The menu is revised monthly. The amenities provided on campus are up to the mark and make your time memorable at IMNU.
Interview Experience
The cutoff for the 20-22 batch was 80%ile and anyone scoring above 80%ile was given an opportunity to appear for the TD-PI round. The admission process comprised of the Theme Development and Personal Interview round also known as TD-PI to test their creativity and communication skills. Wherein the candidates had to choose amongst some chits and speak on the topic which was listed in the chit. The panel consisted of 5 members of which 4 were faculty and the 5th was an alumnus. For me, the topic was the "Generation X". Post which the interviewees asked me questions related to my background. They also tested my emotional quotient by giving some sample situations. Post this the merit list was declared on the basis of marks scored in CAT and the performance in the TD-PI process.
