Remarks
Good: ROI in the placements offered. The one good thing that a management institute must-have is the ROI and IBS Gurgaon is one good example of such institutes. The faculty is very helpful and provides guidance whenever needed. Bad: infrastructure is not very appealing Companies that come for internships do not offer good exposure and work profiles. Admission process: You have to score 150 in NMAT to get into a centralized admission process for all IBS and according to the GD and interview you can get a campus after you have filled a form in which campus preference would have been ranked by you. Getting admission is not difficult because the intake is large.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason why I chose this course is that employment opportunities are better in the field of management in India than in any other. The course curriculum is rigorous and demanding. Learning through the curriculum will depend on the efforts of the student itself. One good takeaway from the curriculum is that it focuses on real problems through questions and case studies. Faculty is well qualified, mostly PhD holders and some ex-govt employees too (IES etc.) Exams are conducted on a timely basis, no delay was there.
Internships Opportunities
On-campus internships are easily available but not advisable because the companies that come are not very good. Internships are mostly unpaid and will revolve around the same profiles in a domail, ex- sales. The work profiles in the internships are also not exposure-oriented. The internship I had was good because of my own efforts and that is what it will take every time to get through in this college every time, be it exams, SIP or placements.
Placement Experience
Placements are okay considering the fee of the college. Placements commence from semester 3. CBRE, Delloite, EY, BlackRock International, HDFC bank, ICICI bank are some regular recruiters. The highest package goes around 10-11, the average is around 6.5. Companies visit in good numbers, there is ample opportunity for a student to get placed. More than 90% of the students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are 8.10 in total which is cheap as far as PGPM/MBA is considered. 80k admission fee(refundable for some time window if someone decides to quit admission) 5 Installments of 144000 for course. No fee hike was there. College offers Scholarships every semester if the score is good (different sums allotted according to CGPA). Financial assistance is available and one can get it through any bank easily. Almost all companies that come for SIP offer no stipend except some.
Campus Life
Blitzkrieg and Rangmanch are the two fests that are conducted every year. No tech fest Books are journals available in the library in abundance Football and cricket playing space is there but not over a large area. Sports fest by the name sportartans is also there. Infrastructure is rather small.
Admission
Through NMAT (150) or through IBSAT
Interview Experience
GD topics can be related to current affairs, economic situations in the country. Topics can be abstract too. PI will be taken by a faculty of the college before admission, communication skills are tested there and some questions which might intrigue over the choice of doing an MBA can be there. IBSAT and NMAT have accepted scores for the college. IBSAT is a centralized test conducted by IBS itself, scoring more than 50% will suffice to get into the admission process. NMAT score of 150 and above will do.
