Remarks

MICA accepts the scores of CAT/XAT/GMAT. There are no defined cutoffs for the scores of these exams. Besides, the other component of selection is MICAT. MICAT is held twice and the best of the two scores are considered. I preferred MICA over other colleges I converted i.e. IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur etc. as it is considered as 'The Mecca of Marketing' and my soul lies in marketing. I could to the best favour to savour my soul by admitting myself into this college. The Pros include the immensely beautiful campus, the events and fests held here are one of their kinds, the faculty here is very renowned and the placements are decent. The cons include its inappropriateness for students aspiring to pursue finance or HR and the fees are comparatively high.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty here are very renowned and erudite. Each of the members of the faculty owes excellence in many fields whether it be advertising or brand management. The set-up of the classrooms makes the institute unique as it has got more student inclusive classroom sessions. The student-faculty ratio is 17:1. The exams are held very timely and there are three terms of 12 weeks. The overall score is not just based on exams but field projects and summer internship too.

Internships Opportunities

5

213 students got placements in the summer placement round. The number of recruiters who participated was 78. The average stipend stands at Rs. 98, 349(for two months). The total number of offers made in e-commerce was 70 and 38 in retail. The key recruiters include lenskart, nestle, Diageo, HUL, ITC, EY, Upgrad, Uber, Ola etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

The key recruiters include Amazon, Intel, Flipkart, Google, Raymond, Puma, Target, Medianet, Loreal, Britannia, Google, HUL, Amul, Dainik Jagran, ICICI Bank etc. The average placements are around 13 to 14 Lakhs per annum. There are also many international placements offered to students. The highest package stood at Rs. 32.28 lakhs (domestic) and at Rs. 58.2 Lakhs per annum( international).

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are Rs.12 lakhs. The fees hike is totally at the discretion of the management board. The fees are inclusive of residential charge so, beyond 21 lakhs, its just the canteen and few recreational activities with your friends that requires a small amount. Stipend offered is also quite well with which I managed to a few additional courses and seminars and of course a short friends trip. The loan can easily be got from a range of banks all with different rate of interest. There are 20 scholarships offered to the students on basis of academic performance and the annual income of the family.

Campus Life

4.5

Student committees and councils include SCAM( sports), MICRE (entrepreneurs), SANKALP ( theatre), MICANVAS, TedX MICA, Studio 7, Miquest and Micompass. The student government body is MCSA. The external relation includes MICAPLACECOMM, TEAM INTERFACE, MICAMINDS & MICA leadership series with immensely talented speakers on stage. There is an alumni association called MICAlumni. The classrooms are the epitome of 'state of art infrastructure. MICANVAS is the most exotic event at MICA we longed for the two years here.

Interview Experience

4.5

There is no group discussion round. However, there is a PI and a group exercise round. Group exercise was real fun. We were asked to create a set up in order to spread against the dowry system. The personal interview round was also an enthralling experience. I was asked questions based on my future goals, my dream company and why is it a dream company, my ability of data mining was also checked and at last, I was asked about a novel I recently completed. Stay well-read and prepare really well for these round as they are not like regular rounds.

The placements in my college are quite strong. Many reputed companies visit every year, offering roles across finance, marketing, HR, analytics, and operations. The placement cell actively organizes training sessions, mock interviews, aptitude practice, and industry interactions, which helps students build confidence and develop employability skills

The course curriculum is hectic and keeps you busy. But the faculty is amazing. Geniuses of the country surround you. 5 sections 90 students each. FABM students study with PGP students for the 1st year. Electives are chosen in the second year. All schedules are pre-decided. The whole curriculum is tough but there is relative grading and thus you can pass if you give your best.
