Remarks

MICA is known as Mecca of Marketing. Its a dream place to study for all marketing aficionados. Marketing forms the forte of the college. The campus forms the other great aspect of the Institute. Red bricks, courtesy of being out of the city and the magnificence of the college makes it attractive. The faculty yet another beautiful and impressive pros. The cons include the location. However, beautiful its not located in a metro area. Creativity comes naturally but, not numbers. The fees are quite too high to afford. The most important parameter to keep in mind while zeroing down to MICA is its not a college for finance or general management. It's exclusive in the marketing area.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The student faculty ratio is 17:1. The majority of faculty holds doctoral degrees with many years of experience in teaching. The pedagogy is more inclusive and exploratory and less classroom based. It forms the most unique part of the Institute. I chose the course solely due to my heart and soul lying in marketing, especially advertising. In fact, one of the facilities Dr Falguni is one of my inspirations to join MICA. The exams are held on a trimester basis. The overall score of a term is based on various projects, assignments, term examinations, presentations and classroom sessions.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The roles offered include marketing, data mining, sales, business development, consumer banking, brand management, content marketing etc. The average stipend ranges around 99,240 Rs. The total number of recruiters who participated is 76.

Placement Experience

4

The average CTC ranges from around 12.6 to 14.1 lakhs. The highest domestic salary is around 25 to 33.45 lakhs. The median salary is around 12 lakhs. The college records a 100% placement. The students are placed in companies from advertising, analytics, consulting, media, IT, FMCG, FMCD, retail and e-commerce sectors. The key recruiters are ITC, JAWA, Amul, L'oreal, Star news, HT Media, nazara, USHA, IBM, CASIO, EY, PUMA etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees stand from 21 lakhs. I would opine it is a bit on a higher side. It includes tuition fees, residential charges, the two years programme and infrastructure facilities charge. MICA scholarships are offered to students based on academic performance and family income. There is a committee created to scrutinise this. The family income must not exceed Rs 10 lakhs. There are a total of 20 scholarships offered in an academic year.

Campus Life

5

MICANVAS is the most exciting are dopamine rush attractive event at MICA. The campus looks like a fairyland during the event. There are many sports committees and councils here. If you are unto sports, we have SCAM, for theatre enthusiasts we have Sankalp. The other popular committees include MICAvaani, Jagriti, Studio 7, MICRE, MICOMPASS etc. MICA offers the most lively campus experience.

Hostel Facilities

5

MICA hostel rooms and buildings are brimming with creativity. The walls are all embellished with graffiti art. It has got a spirit of its own. Each student is allowed to decorate his/her room. In the first year, there are three hostels-boys, girls and a co-ed one. In the second year, there are 6 hostels.

Interview Experience

4.5

MICA frames its selection process in the most unique way. The topic of my general exercise was to create a confusing scene due to different meanings of the same words that pronounced the same but meant different like plain and plane etc. The PI included questions related to interpretation from unstructured data presented before me, OTT platforms, recent web series I watched, social causes I stand for etc. Stay well prepared for the MICA interview as the questions asked are not the regular ones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is like they say we are not teachers here we are, mentors, to guide you and jot to teach you as you have grown up now so should learn things by your own self so the course is as such and the faculty is like everywhere you will have the same situation it's OK.

My experience was very good with AURO and it was a career-shifting, if not career-changing, experience. I made a lot of friends and had an ample amount of fun, but that all would have gone to vain if it weren't for the placement cell to assist me for my personal venture.

Remarks:

The college management was extremely good, ethical and process driven. There were designated office and people for each function including F&B, Administration, Student affairs, Hostel management etc. The faculty was not allowed to enter the student hostel area so students got their own space after classes. The canteens and mess had their own outsourced management which was well administered.
