Entrance Preview
I took MAT entrance examination, I scored 507 marks out of 750 marks. This was the 2nd oldest MBA institute in Orissa. The faculty and the infrastructure both ere good. You will get to do lots of researches in this institute. Whatever the facilities were not there they will immediately arrange that.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was excellent as per Biju pattanaik University of Technology which provided both theoretical and practical which is very important for a MBA scholar. The papers and electives are below, 1st Trimester: Communicative English, Organizational structure, Quantitative methods, organizational behavior, Economics, Communication practical. 2nd Trimester: Marketing Management, Financial Accounting, Human Resource Management, Production and Quality Management, Programming in C, C Programming Laboratory. 3rd Trimester: Business Communication in English, Research Methodology, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Data Structure using C, Communicative Practice Lab, Comprehensive Via voice, Data Structure using C Lab. 4th Trimester: Marketing Management II, Cost & Management Accounting, Human Resource Management II, Production and Quality Management II, Economic and Social Environment, Summer Project Presentation. 5Th Trimester: Business Environment & Legal Aspect, Consumer Behavior, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, Financial Services, Banking Management. 6th Trimester: Business Ethics and Corporate Governance, Advertisement Management, International Finance, Corporate Finance, Insurance Management, Debate, Dissertation, Comprehensive Via Voice.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, they used to give internship in different company like, Philips, Airtel, but most of them are really related to Marketing. If you want to do marketing, you will get lots of on the job training from the institute itself.
Placement Experience
In our batch 2004-06, college has placed almost all the students. Fortunately I got an opportunity in my are of preference in one of the Kolkata based Truck Manufacturing company. We almost 15 students got the placement in the same company which has given us more courage to join that company.
Exam Structure
Really its a hectic schedule because as I mentioned at the top there are 5 paper in each Trimester and each paper contains 5 different types of examination including practical and theoretical, however, we enjoyed a lot and that is really required as I can feel after 10 years that is helping us in managing time in the corporate world.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is very good, co-operative and very knowledgeable. Even if the librarian in the college is also very informative. Particularly the hand material given by all the faculties used to give more guidance to grow our own career knowledge.
