Lookout to IIIT Bhagalpur

I opted for IIIT Bhagalpur as, firstly it is an institute of national importance, secondly it was offering me a branch of my interest, also it has all the faculties with very high qualifications. The location of my college is very suitable for me, as the Ganga river is just behind within walking distance from the campus. As the main building for the campus not there, (but construction have been started), so seniors have their hostels at a little greater distance from the academic building, but that's not a big issue for them. Moreover, every required lab for technical as well as non-technical fields including AI-ML, VSLI, etc. is present. From time to time, very informative workshops and webinars occur. The admission process was through JOSSA after clearing JEE Mains 2020. The admission process was very simple as compared to other colleges. Just we had to simply follow the instructions provided by the admission section. I had referred to some YouTube videos to know about the college.

Talking about the course & curriculum, I was surprised to see the latest course with the updated syllabus, not like some of the old NIT's/IIT's continuing the course structure of 2010 or earlier. Faculties are highly qualified and experienced but less in numbers as this college started only in 2017. But then also, it doesn't feel that some more members are required. Some faculties have not proper communication skills but its quiet fine that we can understand it. Even lab coordinators are highly qualified. Our batch is the largest till now (130 students). But girl students are very less as compared to boys. The same is the case with staff members also. As we enrolled very late due to the corona pandemic, but then also we are not so far to cover up our syllabus. Every month, there are two quizzes (since online) to check the performance. Mid sem as well as end sem. occurs timely with proper Cervi lance.

It is quite fine. Our college has collaborated with many companies to offer interviews. Currently, I have not proper information related to companies but according to seniors, stiffened is quite high.

From the 3rd year onwards students are eligible for on-campus interviews. As college has started in 2017, then also the placements are very high. This year(2021), the highest package was 17.8 lakhs pa. The average placement can be considered to be 9-10 lakhs. In the batch of 60, 34-40 students get placed. And the placement is still going on. The placement cell is doing a great job.

Unlike other NIT's/IIT's/IIIT's, ours's do not provide any scholarships or fee relives. But it is registered in almost every platform from which student can opt for a scholarship. Many students are getting scholarships. The fees structure is quite high for a middle-class family. An average of 1.3 lakhs per semester is required including all the fees + mess + hostels. Max ST students are getting scholarships from the Central govt.

Coming to Campus life is awesome in every sense. Firstly I was thinking that we will have to study a lot but, that was not the case. I get introduced to the clubs which made me realized that I was totally wrong related to college life. Except for the Rotary club almost every clubs are there with very well functioning. Sports clubs are also there including every common sport like badminton, chess, football, cricket and a lot more. Inter and Intra college competitions happen regularly. Mainly annual fest occurs during August-September. EBSB club is also there to enhance the knowledge related to Indian cultures. There is a medium sized library consisting of more than 1700 books. The library is highly equipped. Smart labs are also there for students to get the proper feel of the things which are being taught. Majorly, all the clubs are running by students under the guidance of professors, Webverse(Web Club), Samvaad (literature club), Tarang/Sargam(Music club), Gyrate(Dance club).

Facilities are quite good and enough for all the students. Proper beds, with almirahs, are provided. Students should carry all other things except a bed and chair/table. Internet facilities are also there in each hostel. Bathrooms are proper hygiene. The mess is one of the best in which I had eaten till this time. Mess fees are also very less.
