Remarks
Our college was situation in the commercial area of Nagarjuna hills, so it only had plush building. it did not have the play grounds and open lawns, which you come to associate with a typical college campus. but that was back in 2005, now the management h
Entrance Preview
IBSAT - ICFAI business school aptitude test the interview process was preceeded by an OHP presentation on any of pre mentioned topics in our areas of interest. Unlike other business school which have GD or panel discussions, where the loudest is considered as the best. This college had different parameters to gauge the intellect of the future managers which clicked with me.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was very up to date and various industry professional and guest faculty were regular visitors to our campus and shared their knowledge of the industry and best practices and how the tackled business problem in the real world. we had case studies in each of our subject which gave us practical knowledge about our subjects
Internships Opportunities
Yes the college did provide very good internships and the alumni federation had a fair role to play in that. Stipend would be anything from 5000 - 20000 rs. per month depending on the industry and project assigned. some of the students were involved in direct sales like financial services did earn a handsome amount in the summer internship trimester
Placement Experience
Placements were the ultimate result of the hard work both in terms of class room studies and practical training through internship and case studiesaround 150 companies came to the campus and average salary was rs. 4. 5lacs for a batch of 650 odd students. All types of companies from IT and ITES - TCS, infosys, Consulting/auditing firms - delloite E& Y, Banks - ICICI bank, hdfc bank, Indusind bank, indian bank. Atlas copco, all the premier indian as well as Global Giant Organisations participate in the placement of class of 2005
College Events
Our college held a management fest annually where different management games as well as sports competitions were organised by the student committee. students of all major B schools flocked our campus during the 2 day festival and it had a fair participation from girls as well as boys. of course the games had great prizes including cash and gift vouchers.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was pretty okay as compared to other big B-Schools at that time. The total fee was 3. 5 lacs and some of our were lucky enough to even get that reduced by as much as 50% due to the scholarship offered by the college. so minimum one had to pay for 2 years was approx rs 1. 75lacs in 2005
Fees and Financial Aid
College gave us scholarship - firstly based on our selection- entrance exam scores and interview. that stood only for the first trimester, beyound the first trimester, only academic performance would ensure that we continued our scholarship or we had to pay the full fees. scholarship fees if availed in full would halve our course fee. some students did get the 50% waiver throughout the 2 year course.
Campus Life
The college life as usual is full of extra curricular activies, like cultural event, college festivals of other business schools, where we were encouraged to visit and participate in various events and activities, not to forget the inhouse college fest - Aakriti, where we were responsible right from naming it to organising everything right from start to end. the gender ratio was fairly even and also fair representation from different states of the country.
Hostel Facilities
Our college was in the middle of a commercial hub - nagarjuna hills in hyderabad so sadly we did not have hostel accomodation from the college. we had to manage shared accomodation with fellow students on our own. but that was also a great part of college
Alumni/Alumna
There was plenty of interaction with senior and junior students both individually and group wise, we would be free to choose anybody for mentorship if we wanted specific help regarding project work and more over same buildings for lab sessions and workshops ensured that we were always in touch with our seniors. Also alumni federation ensured we got a fair handholding from old students/alumni in our internships and placements.
Exam Structure
Yes the exams were very frequent as we were in a trimester system. we had exams every 45 days and semi trimester and trimester full exams. we were always running short of deadlines to complete our project work and submit the assignment and in between sche
Faculty
Faculty was the best point of the college and we have all sorts of decorated people from PHD to MD/CEO of companies. from Foreign University professors for one trimester to In house seniors who had unmatchable command over their topics. The Knowledge whic
