Remarks
The college management makes sure that everything is in law and order. They make sure that the students maintain the decorum of the institution. They take strict actions on any kind of ragging and the student might even be suspended if the ragging is too harsh. There is a disco committee held if the student is found guilty of cheating in the exam, caught consuming drugs and harassing the other students. The consequences may vary from fine to informing the parents and also to the suspension of the student. The management is impartial to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well planned. It gets updated from time to time, for example we were introduced to Python which was earlier not in the curriculum for our seniors, similarly my juniors had cloud computing and big data in their curriculum. So the curriculum gets updated as per the demand in the IT industry which most of the college do not do. Exam Structure: I had mid semester and end semester for the first three semesters and then we had T1, T2, T3 for the remaining 5 semesters. This was done because more and more students were getting back and so the management decided to do so, so that the year of the student is not wasted unnecessarily. Also the attendance and the internal marks play ed an important role. It had a weightage of 25 marks per subject. We had practicals seperately, again mid semester and end semester practicals. Role in my professional life: One of the reason I got a job was because I was Python literal. The had my internship in Python as well. I did my internship in National Informatics Center which is not a cake walk to get into for a student of a private college. But it was because of python and mu strong academic background that I got an internship into it. Also I got the job because of the same reason. The course gives the student the confidence which plays a major role while interviewing.
College Events
The college technical, sports and cultural fest every year along with various other events held from time to time. Technical fest: There were 4 technical fests organized by various branches, cse, mechanical, civil and electrical with various activities in it. Cultural fest: The cultural fest is a 3 day long event. It is an open fest. There are various stage performances and competitions in the evening and there are various other day events organised by various wings, cultural, art and event management, literally, media and sports. Sports fest: The sports fest is organised where there are matches for cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, chess, table tennis and badminton. The competition is against the students of the sister universities. The other events held are like the English nad hindi plays, musical night, halloween, diwali night, dandia night and many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible if you talk about the private colleges. The odd semesters costed Rs 1.2 lakhs and the even semester costed Rs 80k. The mode of payment was online, cash in the accounts department as well as demand draft to be sent by post. No there is no additional fee to be paid to secure the admission and it is refundable for a particular time period and then it's non refundable after that. Yes, the college provides complete transparency in the fee-breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I did not opted for any scholarship or education loan. But there is a discount available by the government for students who are financially weak. The students can fill those forms which is available on the government portal and can submit the same in the accounts department. If the submission gets approved then the student can avail the discount as per the government norms.
Campus Life
Like any other engineering college, the maximum amount of girls are in computer science branch. The number decreases in electronics and communication branch, civil branch and mechanical branch, strictly in this order. In all the overall ratio is 1:4 of girls vs boys. The campus life is amazing and will always be cherished. All the cafe talks, the assignments, the lake walk, the fests, the extra curricular events, they in all help a lot in the overall grooming of the person. The college is strict with no ragging policy and take strict actions if violated. There is a disco committee held if the student is found guilty of cheating in the exam, caught consuming drugs and harassing the other students. The students from all over India come to study here. There are students from metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai as well who come to do their graduation from this college because of its good reputation and good placements. The college is impartial to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. In conclusion, the college is strict in maintaining the law and order if the college as well as allows the students to enjoy as well in a decent manner.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I opted for the hostel. The hostel rooms were a three seater with partitions in middle so that the student have their privacy as well. Each student was provided a single bed with beddings, table, table lamp, almirah with a locker, shelf to keep the suitcase, table and a chair. Also they were provided with selves above the table to keep their books. Each room had a balcony for drying the clothes. The hostel also had laundry facility where student can give at the max of 10 clothes per week. The mess was inside the hostel and there were fixed timings for it. The mess was available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each floor had watercolor and there were common washrooms on each floor. The washrooms were cleaned twice daily and. Also the rooms were cleaned every alternate day and the lobby was cleaned daily. The hostel also had a swimming pool, gym, table tennis table, night pantry and beauty parlour. The hostel had a caretaker who used to take care if the students are facing any issue. The hostels were air conditioned and had a good cooling. There was availability of hot water as well. In all the hostel accomodation was amazing and very hygienic.
Alumni/Alumna
I am an alumni of the college and i must say that the alumi network is good. The college is active on LinkedIn, Facebook alumini page as well as Instagram alumini page. They keep updating the announcements regarding the alumini meet on these social network platforms as well as on their official website. They also keep sharing the alumini's achievement in terms of their professional and academic achievements. I alumini network has helped me switch the job through the job refferal. The connectivity is good and the college is quite active on these platforms to make the alumini up to date. The college also mails monthly alumini magzine to get to know the professional achievements of the passout students.
Admission
I'll write the process which I went through for the admission for the academic year 2014-2018. The process and dates might vary due to the covid-19 pandemic situation. I filled an online form for the admission. The form was available on the official website of the college by the mid of November, 2013. The Jaypee group has 4 sister universities and so you can opt for all the four universities in just one form. The form costed Rs 750. The form contained basic information regarding the name, age, academic qualifications and marks. Also they asked if you have a year gap. They asked for the IIT JEE roll number as well. By June they sent me a call letter for the counselling. It was held in the Headquarter college, Jaypee Noida, sector 62. I was asked to take the mark sheets both original and photocopies along with the passport size photograph. They asked for the IIT-JEE rank and accordingly to the rank they were calling out the students in group and in the mean time they were asked to fill the course and the university branch one wants to get admitted into and according to the rank the seat is allotted. By the end of the counselling one gets to know if you are selected or not. They also ask for the admission fee at the time of counseling which is refundable if one does not gets the admission as per their choice.
Faculty
Number of lectures per course: 3 lectures and 1 tutorial per week for theory course and 1 lab per week for the practical course. Mostly all the professors were alumini of IITs and NITs and some had their research papers citied as well. Some of the professors were drop outs of the IT industry and so they helped the students in letting them know their industrial experience. All the courses were mentioned in each semester's marksheet along with the grades and overall GPA and average CGPA per semester. And later after the successful completion of all the 8 semesters the students gets the consolidated marksheet which contains the grades, gpa and cgpa of all the 8 semesters. The students get the degree as well after the successful completion. They get the character and migration certificate as well.
