MIET - An honest review

The admission in MIET(Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology) begins in the month of June and goes till mid August. The college is affiliated to AKTU university and admission is usually done by clearing AKTU written exam. College is good in terms of management and providing extra facilities, but lack somewhere in infrastructure, teaching staff/ standards and latest education. I personally only preferred this college due to low fees and distance issues.

I had chosen this course because of mine interest towards technology. Faculty in the college can be rated 4.5/10 (in terms of knowledge), 4/10 (in terms of teaching and guidance). College mainly focuses on exam clearance and theoretical knowledge, which forcing for attendance and grades to maintain college's overall ratings. MIET is affiliated to AKTU university and thus all exams etc. were taken by university norms. The teacher-student ratio is somewhat maintained to 1:20. The overall college can be 4/10.

From 7th semester, MNC's companies start hiring. The average package is 3.5lpa and their is 50% placement record only. Only service based companies who are famous for mass-hiring or few local start-ups do visit for placements. Some of them could be TCS, Wipro, Webkul etc.

Life at MIET can be rated as average (5.5/10). We have annual fests - KOLAAHAL, many literary, technical events at various levels. Though college fails to organize sports & social events, but one may form his/her own club, if passionate. Library and other facilities are way old and hasn't been updated from last 10 years, I guess.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is a 4-year termed course having 8 semesters (2 in a year). The fee structure of MIET can be elaborated as: 1st year fees - Rs.1,04,000/- and rest 3 year fees are approximately Rs.93400/-. Please note the fees here are excluding hostel and bus facilities, if taken. Hostel fees may comprises of 60-70k per annum while bus fees depends on the distance from the college (15k-30k per annum).
