Remarks

The college management is good. But, they are always picky and most of the times, over picky in giving holidays. The schedules of exams or class works, if necessary, will be changed by the management.

Entrance Preview

There is a separate entrance exam for GITAM University. It is GAT - Gitam Admission Test. The test will not be very easy but you can score well if you prepare well. My rank in that exam was around 15000(since I did not prepare well). I opted GITAM as it is the top university in Andhra Pradesh. There is no interview but only counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very good. It is updated once every two years to stay updated. There are both practical and theoretical courses. Entire 4 years is divided into 8 semesters. There are electives only in the last two semesters. The first year curriculum is common for all the branches with programming languages C and C++ mandatory for all.

Internships Opportunities

The doing of an internship is a mandatory part in the course curriculum. But college does not provide any internship. In the third year summer holidays, we have to do the internship and go back to the college with the intern report.

Placement Experience

3.5

Almost all the students get placed in the college. But most of them get placed in the IT companies with as low package as 3.25 lakh per annum. There are many companies like - TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Polaris, Microsoft, Amazon,Oracle, Dell and many more IT companies coming to our college. Also, other companies like Fiat, Hyundai and other branch related core companies do come but recruit less number of students.

College Events

4

There are many events that will be celebrated in the college. There are many carnivals, technical fests, workshops and guest lectures that will be conducted in the college. Also, there will be many cultural events spread across the year. College students will organise and participate in the fests and events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college charges the same amount for the student for all the four years but the fee gets increased every year and the increased fee is for the old batces. The fee for us is 1,67,000 as we joined in the year 2013. For 2013-2017 batch, every year, we have to pay 1,67,000. Now, the recent fee is 2,25,000 for 2016-2020 batch students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, our college does provide scholarship and free education. There is even free education and fee concession based on the GAT rank. After every semester, based on our CGPA and economic status, the college provides a huge amount of Rs.10000 for the student

Campus Life

4.5

There is no gender bias or discrimination in our college. There are many carnivals, technical fests, workshops and guest lectures that will be conducted in the college. Also, there will be many cultural events spread across the year. There are many technical workshops and guest lectures by famous people bought from all over the world by societies like IEEE, IETE,ACM etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There are around 5 buildings that serve as boys hostels and 4 buildings that serve as girls hostels. The rooms are good and the bathrooms, although not attached, are clean. But the food is not tasty. We have to get adjusted with the oil spilling bonda and many varieties of upma.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the senior students are very helpful. There are many alumni of GITAM who are well settled now. Some of them even come to GITAM as a part of their companies recruitment team to recruit students.

Exam Structure

There will be 3 mid exams and a final semester exam for each semester. There are lab internals and also externals that will be conducted but, the schedule of the college never makes us hectic. There are half days and full days spread throughout a week from the second year although first year students have to attend 6 days a week. From second year, there will be 2-3 half days and if lucky enough, a full day will be given as holidays.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of our college is good. They have good subject knowledge and most of them are friendly in nature. Although it is inevitable that there are some stupid fellows who absolutely have no knowledge, most of the faculty have a good grip over the subject since all of the faculty are post graduates and have completed PhD or is doing PhD.
