University Business School, Chandigarh is one of the best Management Colleges in India in terms of environment and ROI. UBS has secured 48th rank in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 among management institutes in the country. The admission is based upon the CAT score and various relaxations are provided to the reserved categories and most probably the admission registrations started by the end of December. The positive ambiance, experienced faculty, case study basis learning, number of cells/clubs for extra learning, and management experiences are the most attractive factors of this B School and these reasons why I chose this B school but still, there is some lack of awareness about UBS among MBA aspirants.

I got admission in MBA HR as per my preference and interest. Mostly the batch strength of MBA HR is quite less than other streams so it is very easy to have a personal connection with the faculty. UBS is having professional faculty for each stream. Under HR, UBS has faculty with more than 10 years of experience in labor laws, Core Human resources, Human Capital, Change Management, and HR planning. In this Black swan period( COVID 19), keeping the academic calendar as per the firm rules was quite difficult. But we have cheerfully completed our first semester with proper scheduled and secured examination mode.

Various startups, small and large recruiters visit UBS for summer internship Recruitments. Currently, because of covid, the Summer internship placements are running at a slow rate but usually, the students get placed for their summer internships within one or two months. Mostly the summer internship is stipend-based.

Around 90% of the MBA batch is placed every year. The highest domestic Salary package was 18.81 LPA by American Express and the highest International salary package offered was 55 LPA by Tolaram Group. Top Recruiting companies are Trident Group, SBI General, HDFC, Barcardi, Infosys, Finxera, Wipro, E&Y, KPMG. Major roles offered to the students are Marketing intensive.

The fee structure of UBS is no a burden at all. The net combined fee (including examination fee and others) is around 1 lakh, which is favorable for the students compared to other B schools.

Unfortunately, the batch of 2020 didn't get a chance to have practical exposure at UBS due to pandemic. But the semester had gone as per the academic calendar via online mode perfectly. After the admission, we had a session of induction and orientation where we got to know about the various cells and clubs. There are 4 major and 4 minor clubs. A student can choose 1 major and can be in any number of minor clubs. There are again some selection criteria to be a member of these cells or clubs. Every cell is active and organizes various kind of fun and management competitions

In 2020 the admission process was slightly different from the regular procedure because of the virtual era. Firstly the candidates are selected as per the cat score and they called for GD and PI. But this time for the 2020 batch of MBA there was a round of extempore rather than Group Discussion that is proceeded with a personal interview. The set of questions that are asked are basically about the graduation and work experience if any.
