Remarks

No bad remarks but I'd like to suggest them to not force people to attend assembly every day.But I'd appreciate all other work of the management. They really work hard to make Karunya a better place to live.

Entrance Preview

I actually took up only JEE and I was waiting to get into a decent college in Tamilnadu via the Anna university engineering counselling but the TIME institute recommended me to take up KEE also.In JEE mains I just cleared the exam by scoring the minimum marks so I lost the hope of getting into good college whereas in KEE I scored 2000 rank which gave me the freedom to choose any department so I chose Karunya.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well,I'd rate 4/5 the students are actually following CBCS system here which gives us the freedom to choose our softcore and free elective papers and the staffs too.The curriculum is updated every year according to the recent advancements and the focus towards research is also given importance. So all subjects are taught practically more than the theory counterparts.

Internships Opportunities

I'm just in my third year and I'm yet to attend an internship but as far as I know we've IAESTE which brings really good internships with a very high stipend from universities and companies throughout the world.Excluding them, we've ISP's who notify the students about other internships.

Placement Experience

4

That's the most improving area our university is focused on last year more than 75 companies visited the campus and the placements were close to 100% we've all companies from Accenture to Huawei to Nutanix etc. Average package was around 5 lakhs and the highest package offered was 23LPA to three students.Even while learning students have earned while you learn to program to earn more.

College Events

4

We've two large events KEMT and MIndkraft followed by many departments fest and inter-college competitions. KEMT is a national level sports tournament and Mindkraft is what we call as the festival of Karunya ,It actually lasts for 5 days where we've all sorts of cultural, sports, technical and non-technical events. Generally, mindkraft is conducted in the month of march and KEMT during September

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's not expensive actually at least not for me on an average we pay like 1.7 LPA for both hostel and the general academic fees together which pretty much covers everything.Excluding that fee, the only extra fee to be paid is the end semester exam fee which is approximately 5000.Since it covers every single expense I don't think it's expensive

Fees and Financial Aid

Sorry,I haven't applied/received any scholarships or loans but I know that the university helps the students to get loans by partnering with banks and all the government scholarships are shared with economically backwards students.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is close to equal like we've 5000 boys and 4000 girls in the whole campus and we've students from almost all the states of India and few from foreign countries like Nigeria. No problems with tolerance and you'll be respected and treated normal irrespective of your preferences and I forgot to mention something this is a Christianity minority institution so 70% of students are Christians.

Hostel Facilities

3

This is an important one Karunya University is a compulsory residential university and you can't be a day scholar unless you're parents live in Coimbatore. We've three types of hostel rooms 1,4 and 6 seater rooms there's no extra fee for 4 or 6 but 10000 extra per year for a single seater which ever room you choose you've all facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni cell connects the alumni's with students to help them and guide them to advance in their studies or career.Seniors are equally helpful by sharing their work experiences and suggestions on subjects.

Exam Structure

I wouldn't say it's hectic we just have 2 lab sessions every week and after the labs, we've a free hour or lunch to chill out.coming to the exams part the weightage is 60:40. That is 60 percent internals and 40 percent of externals constitute the grade .We've 3 internals one after every 30th working day and the end semester exam at the end of the year and for labs, we follow continuous assessment.

Admission

Actually, the TIME institute where I went for coaching took up all the procedures its pretty simple apply for KEE exam online and choose your preferred exam centre and take up the exam once the results are published the 1st 5000 rank holders will be called for the counselling choose the desired course if available or stay on waiting list if the seat is confirmed pay the fee and that's it.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties are PhD holders or else few of them are currently doing them.I'm not sure about the other departments but as for mine the staffs are well-versed in their respective subjects and are really good at teaching. They motivate the students to study beyond the books and give extra tasks to explore more on subjects.

Many staffs work on the placement. Hence the placement is average . They provide interships and consider it as placement. Hence take a person with intern offer from the database. But only few finally get the employement offer and offers left unemployed.
