Entrance Preview

IIT JEE (Jee Advanced) 2014. AIR 2794 and Marks 196/360. I was always wanted to be a mechanical engineer because in my view a mechanical engineer is the real engineer and at my rank this college was the best option as well as IIT-BHU's mechanical engineering department is one of the top mechanical engineering departments in the country.

Internships Opportunities

Yes my college provides internships after 3rd year. Average stipend for core branches is around 20000 per month with highest being 2.5 lacs per month. Whereas in Non core branches it is around 50000 per month whereas highest being 5 lacs from Google (GSOC). HUL, Honda are the top companies in core where as Google, Microsoft in non core.

Placement Experience

Placement scenario is superb. Even if you have backlogs you can fetch job easily here. You have to show just little dedication and that's all. We have one person one placement policy. Companies from all fields like software, analytics, management, core visit our campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible for students admitted before 2016. But the fee hike for 2016 students is not justified because institute is not providing facilities according to the increased fee. General Category Students admitted before 2016- ₹50,950 per semester. General Category Students admitted in 2016- ₹1 lakh per semester.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are not up to the mark. In room of 2, 3 students are residing and the LAN (internet) conditions are severe. You will see "chuna" in the rooms. Mess food is nice and it is praised time to time by students of other IITs too during college festivals.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Exam Structure

We have 2 class tests and one end semester exam. In 4 months semester 2nd month is for Class test 1 carrying 20% wieghtage and Class test 2 in 3rd month carrying 20 % weightage where as end sem in last month carrying 40% and rest 20 % is for assignments, quizzes and practicals.

Admission

Step 0: Registration for Jee mains starts in the month of November aand closes in December. Step 1: Jee Mains (April 2014) The minimum cut to qualify for Jee advanced was around 110 and I got around 230 in the qualifying exam. Step 2: Jee Advanced (May 2014). The minimum cut to be eligible for counselling was around 160 i.e around AIR 7000 and I got 196. Step 3: 3 Round online counselling where I initially got IIT Indore Electrical but finally at the end of all rounds I got IIT-BHU Mechanical.

Faculty

Although all the faculty members are highly qualified with degrees from top colleges of world but mostly are not up to the mark in terms of teaching. Very few are dedicated and pouring real knowledge to the students rest are just doing formality and just looting the governments money.

My overall Journey

Likes

Everything was good except placements.
Campus was so engaging , has a beautiful campus , one can get to learn a lot .
Faculties was from either IIT's or NIT's with good humor and knowledge.

Dislikes

Student has to suffer a lot during placements for students who are from Biotechnology .
No one takes responsibility , if a student is unplaced.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become elligible for campus placements.From top companies like google , microsoft to new startups like Raspa , Protium all companes visits , Highest package was 96 LPA , 40% students get placed , rest suffers , if one is from core branch then they get chances for PSUs and other organization.

Likes

Environment is good, the overall environment is calm
The hostel is good, it is hygienic and provides regular maintainence
The campus feels quiet safe and have good security with strict regulations

Dislikes

The network connectivity is not up to the mark
There are very less number of cultural events taking place in this college
Hectic study schedules which leaves no time for extra curricular activitoes

Placement Experience:

Placements of thos college is quiet good Many big companies provides internships and placements This year also quiet many students got placed TCS visited the campus for hiring Average packhage is 15 lakh per annum

What I See at SRM Ghaziabad

Likes

I really appreciated the college clubs and hackathons.
There are variety of events throughout the semester, something to always keep you on your feet.
Some of the faculties are really really experienced and have a unique approach that captures the attention of all the students.

Dislikes

Not many hotspots around campus to hang out after classes.
The infrastructure of the hostel can be improved a lot.
Food in mess is not great, the menu is not very diverse. Everything has aloo.

Placement Experience:

Placements are actually impressive with our college having the highest placement rate among others in the region. We usually achieve ~90% placement. We get opportunities from many large groups, such as Infosys, TCS, JPMC, BNY, Logitech, etc etc The list goes on. The highest package that I saw was of around 1Cr from a company I don't remember their name, but it was based out of SF and was a really great one. Average placement we see is around 12-20LPA packages.

Life at SRM.

Likes

A good and friendly environment on campus where students from all around nearby cities and states stay together in harmony.
Interactive classes and faculty is also very supportive.
The campus has all basic facilities from food to stationary.

Dislikes

The food may sometimes be not very good.
The campus has less places to spend some free time other than some spots.
Due to small academic hall places may look too crowded.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is really one of the the factors convincing everyone to take admission in SRM ,average package from the college is of around 10,00,000 which is really a very good amount in todays stresfull market.

I liked the faculties of my college they are very supportive and helpful towards the students.
I like the curriculum which more learning based then theory
I like the support that is provided by the college towards the placements of the students

I don't like the attendence system of our college it very hectic to students
There is lot of focus on exam in my college which I don't like
Syllabus are not updated in our college we are studying very old things

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for this course because I want to be a software engineer. I chose my course because it was well-informed, and my interest was also in this field from the start. The faculty members and platform were also quite good for nurturing personal skills and making one a skilled and disciplined person in life. I wish this course would focus more on practical things rather than being theoretical. Events, fests, and the campus environment are also very good and pleasing to the eye. Connectivity was also easy from all around the world due to its location. Scholarships were also awarded to almost every student.

There are very good and highly qualified Faculties for each subject.
There is lot of clubs and groups which give exposure to the students.
Location of College is best in Greater Noida

Dislikes

There is little busy management and take time to respond query.
Highly busy schedule of college timings.
There can be delay in examinations from its expected date.

Placement Experience:

Placement in GCET is one of the good In greater Noida colleges. The average package of this college is 4-6 L.P.A. Companies like TCS, J.P Morgan, Josh Technology, L.G etc visited every year. Mass recruiters like wipro,infosys,capegemini also visited every year. About 85% students every year placed from the college. After getting degree my plans are getting very good placemnt from this college.

In my college placement is good and increasing every year as I have heard from s masters senior in past 4 days 1000 students have been placed and placements are still going on and there is a dedicated placement cell in our college and also skilled students can get upto 40-60LPA and average is 6-7 LPA and my plans after degree is to go for masters as I have intrest in MTECH too and 60-70% gets placement and it's still increasing and companies visit such as wipro hcl LG delloite etc

Likes

I liked the faculty here, they are well qualified and experienced
The way the faculty is trying hard with the students is very good.
Students are good here too they are cooperative with each other.

Dislikes

Library doesn't open after college hours.
Less events organised here in comparison of other engineering colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because i did diploma in computer science engineering so after that i chose to do BTech in cse for better opportunities. Here I am really learning some computer languages by which I am making some projects. Exams timing is they held in evey 5-6 months.and this is a decent time to prepare for the semester exams.

Unveiling Campus Life and Academic Excellence

Likes

Professer behavior is very cool and good
Classes is conducted in normal class in which some classes have A.C while some not
Campus area is so big in which staff parking and student parking is separtely available

Dislikes

College time is bad . It is same as school timing
Student must maintain 75% attendence to avoid detention in CIA
It does not give a proper break after semester exam

Placement Experience:

The placement is average as same as other college . It provide 6-12 LPA package for who have skills as market required The placement criteria for student is above 8 CGP and no backlogs in all semester My plans after getting the degree is to join a good company for a good life The percentage of getting placements is above 80%

IIT bhu college review

I got mechanical engineering in IIT bhu because of my rank in jee advanced examination. I rejected civil of kanpur and chemical of ghuwati because of the superiority of mechanical over them . In terms of placement IIT bhu rank is now 2 after IIT kanpur that's one of the reason to choose it. Now I tell u about my admission process all the students alloted a date to submit documents and for hostel verification . Then on that day the allot us hostel room to stay. Then all students of different branches alloted different places to go and submit documents we go there and submit documents after a rush. Then they give us college id card with college stamp. A Good and Fruitful choice.

IIT BHU is known for it's religious and spiritual, Cultural environment. A number of fest take place. There are appx 10-11 DJ nights and pronight in a year. A total of 6-7 fest are done annually at large level and small fest are regular. This is the best thing of it. The mess quality is also better as compared to others.
