Life at Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,Durgis awesome. The only regret you would have is to eat hostel food. The only time the food tastes good is at Sundays.
Entrance Preview
I took Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test [CG-PET] and scored a rank of 932 in it and selected Mechanical branch. I selected SSCET because of its campus placement in chhattisgarh.
Internships Opportunities
Yes our college Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,Durg does provide internship but we are send outside to do our internship. It is much like summer vocational training when we are send to do our vocational training. Students have the choice to do wherever they want to do their vocation training. From our college side, students are sent to Bhilai Steel Plant,Bhilai for training. But the quantity of selected students that are sent to Bhiali Steel plant are based on merit based.
Placement Experience
I selected Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,Durg only because various compaines come for campus placement. But they are mostly for Information Technology and computer science engineering student. In which all the branches the sit and many students get select even if they don't belong from CSE or IT branches. For this year I have seen Indian Navy,TCS,Ambuja Cement,Wipro and Accenture to come our college.
College Events
In Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,DurgVarious events happens throughout the year. But our main even is the national level technical event called SAMVID which is orgainsed by Shri Shankaracharya Group of Institute. It is a three day event in which various cultural programs are orgainsed,Online Gaming,LAN Gaming, In doors games,Six-aside football matches,RAMP walk,Dance event showcase your and various other events happens.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee waviers are given to student who have come in the merit list or are branch openers of their branch. Apart from that there are mInority scholarship scheme. ST,SC,OBC scholarship scheme.
Campus Life
Life at Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,Durgis awesome. How a college should have to be is here. Well the gender ratio is always at low like 4:70. While for other it is almost in equal ratio. Most of the student here are locality and are from chattisgarh. Students from other parts of country makes about 7% of the current student.
Hostel Facilities
The one I don't like Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology,Durg Hostel is the food. Both of our Boys Hostel whether it is Anand Valli or Anand Lahri Food quality is always only average. On some worse days it is also below average. The
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful if want notes about any of the subjects they are more than helpful to give your notes. Seniors treated their juniors like their younger kid brother. We seniors and juniors make preparation for various events together. Even the number the of juniors playing at university levels are higher than other colleges.
