Remarks
Overall for study purpose college atmosphere was good. But for quality of life purpose Rohtak itself was not a very good city to explore. But as Delhi is near by so u can fulfill your urge of exploration.
Entrance Preview
I have got selected through AIPMT held in 2010. I got 895 rank in general category.I wanted a college in or near to Delhi. As at my rank delhi colleges were already filled so opted for this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The MBBS course is divided into 4 professionals. In first prof there are 3 subjects anatomy, biochemistry and biochemistry. In second there are 4 subjects- pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forenaic medicine. In 3rd/ mini prof there are 3 subjects- ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, and community medicine. I 4th and final prof there are 4 subjects- general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics. If u pass all these exams then u have to complete 1 year compulsory rotatory internship to get MBBS degree. The course curriculum was as described in MCI guidelines and teaching process was up to the mark.
Internships Opportunities
There are equal seats of internship for internal students and some additional seats for external students also.Stipend is 12000/- per month. But duties are hectic at my time.
Placement Experience
Overall it is a reputed college of north India so u can easily get jobs in govt or private hospitals. But most of the MBBS pass outs prepare for the MD/MS seats entrance exams. If u want to earn then u can easily get jobs of 50,000/- per month. There are many seats of house surgeons in our hospital where u can get easily with 50,000/- per month.
College Events
The main cultural events are igneous, and annual sports meet- spardha. Apart from this, regular basis conference are there on different subjects and topics. These conferences include theoretical as well as practical knowledge based lectures and events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Current fee structure is 76000/- per year for college fees and 1000/- per year for Hostel fees. Which is comparable to other govt medical college. Most of the rooms are single occupancy only so there is no privacy issue. While during first year u get sharing rooms only.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many govt schemes for SC/ST students and below poverty line students. To get these scholarships student need to fill form in the starting of the professional year. For general above poverty line students there are no scholarship I am aware of.
Campus Life
There was a gender ratio of 1:1 in my class. But girls and boys used to sit on different sides of the class. This can be easily guessed in Haryana. Most of the students were from north India only. There was no ragging in the hostel. Very strict actions were being taken by authorities to combat this issue.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms for under graduates were old constructed but for internship newly constructed Hostel was there. There are cooperative messes in each block which are managed by students only so quality was good. You have to pay separately for food per month.
Alumni/Alumna
As such there were no alumni meats or convocation but from this year only they started convocation ceremony for providing degrees and medals. So may be in coming years we are hoping to get alumni meets also.
Exam Structure
As I mentioned earlier also internship is hectic due to many patients coming from villages. But during MBBS it's up to u if u want to study hard there is a environment for studies but if u want to chill out more then u can but u have to study at least 2 months before final exams to pass the prof.
Faculty
Faculty of the college was qualified enough to teach u the subject easily. Most of the faculties were MD/ MS, some of them were DM/MCh also. They used to take regular class test and at the end u have to give final exam to pass a professional. Faculty uses projector and slides for teaching a particular topics that may seam a little boring some time but some teachers uses chalk and board also to make us understand the things.
