Best college for Hotel Management

Overall IHM Chennai is very good for studying Hospitality.

I gave NCHMCT JEE and my rank was 2797.I got IHM Chennai in 2nd round.I chose IHM Chennai because I love cooking and Chennai is a great place to live in.IHM Chennai is well known for Food Production.

IHM Chennai is well known for food production. Faculty is great.Bsc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is of 3 years. In second semester French and English language will be added. Hotel Engineering and Nutrition will be replaced by Accountancy and Food Science.IHM Chennai students get experiences by giving service in various hotels, and they get paid for providing the services. In second year students get industrial training by working in hotels for four months. So it gives a lot of experience to students and it get easy for students to get a job. Many students do specialization in second year in particular subject. So they do not study other subjects in 3rd year.

Yes our college provide internship and the stipend money is Rs 2000-3000. I am in first year so i dont know about experience.

There is 100% placement. Every student of IHM Chennai student get job.Hotels like Taj, Oberoi, ITC etc comes for hiring the students.On an average students get package of Rs 25000-35000 per annum. This year student of bsc third year got package of Rs45000 from Inter Continental Hotel Chennai.

There is about 60 events held each year in college.Almost every student participate in every event. Most celebrated festival is Pongal and Onam. Football, Basketball, Cricket are most played sports in IHM Chennai. Every year students participate in college sports events.

Fee is feasible. Middle class family can afford it very easily. Tution fee along with Hostel rent cost around Rs70000. Infrastructure is very good of IHM Chennai. There is a seperate hostel for freshers, and hostel is well furnished. Quality of mess food is also good.

I dont think college provide scholarship to the students. College may reduce fee for the students who cant afford. Good facilities offered by the college is well furnished canteen and restaurants for practicals.

Campus life is awesome. After college, students get engage in the extracurricular activities. Every month one or two workshops are organised. Students participate in various culture societies.Zero tolerance regarding religion, race, gender etc. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Seniors are very good, very helpful.

Every student who applied for Hostel accommodation definitely get hostel. Students have to share room, there is no single room facilities in hostel. Mess food is good. Students get different food daily, so its a plus point for the students. There is a TV for students in mess.

Senior students are very good, very helpful, very friendly. Some of my seniors are working abroad and doing great in life.

Exam structure is very good. Each semester contain three internals which is compulsory to give. Its very helpful for students as they get to know the exam structure coming in semester.Its not that tough to score good marks. Subjects are really very interesting to study.

IHM Chennai faculties are very good. Some of the faculties have provided services in world class hotels and cruises. Teachers are very good, very cheerful. They make students work better effectively and efficiently. They always motivate students to do better in life.
