Remarks

Guys i will tell you its not about the college. Its about the fucking VTU.Pls dont join any VTU affiliated colleges for the love of god.

Course Curriculum Overview

Guys first of all never join any VTU affiliated colleges.I repeat never. If you are not getting into good colleges like RV or PES its better to join a private university where attendance is not an issue and they provide enough vacation to do intership.First VTU syllabus is oudated as fuck where it contains 00000 industry knowledge and adding a salt to that they have a mandatory 85% class attendance and the worst part is classes will be running on almost all months and only last sem(8th sem) is given for intership. That too students have to attend class once a week. That means they are making students to learn the old theory and shit when the students should learning the new technologies gaining the practical knowledge of industries. If you ask me you better sit and learn all by yourself than paying the a hefty amount just to regret!

Placement Experience

1.5

I can say placement of our college is fairly okay. Many service based companies(including mass recruiters) will take usually cs and is branch students.Even the other branch like EEE,EC and CIVIL(hell yeah) students are made to attend java bootcamps under the name of Placement Training in the last semester.Just imagine how you feel when all the 3.5 years you studied to build a building and now they are asking to learn how to make software in less than a month so that you get job and get places in mass recruiting company irrespective of your branch. No Product based company will ever came to this college.

College Events

0.5

Sanchalana - A cultural event celebrated every year. And I forgot the name of the technical event which only celebrated once in the 3 years. And some seniors are kind enough to host workshops about the industry skills so that their juniors dont have to suffer like they did. There are very few clubs for name sake.Very rarely that gets active.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As i am management candidate i am paying 1.5 lakhs a year. And a CET candidate pays near to 1 lakh. College provides transeparency in the fee breakdown like tution fee, university fee. No need to pay any extra charge to secure admission for a KCET or COMEDK candidate.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship 19k/year given under Karnataka govt given for all the technical college students in karnataka. There is cyber cafe near the college they will explain what all documents and criterai need to be met and charge 250 per application.

Campus Life

Gender Ratio is good in all bramches except mechanical and electrical engineering branch. Birthday parties hosted amongst group of friends near the sports ground often. There are some dead societies in college like csi most of the times team members were just joined there so as to skip more classes by getting attendance.

Hostel Facilities

Yes i have opted for hostel. As the college is in the outskirts of Banglore city the hostels are very near to college.Hostel rooms are just upto the mark. There will be 3 members in a room. And the hostel closes at 9pm.No outside people and foods are allowed inside the hostel premises. And a room will have a fan(sometimes regulators wont work) and 3 iron cot, iron table, iron cupboards and a plastic chair provided for each 3 students. And the hot water wont come on all days. And hostel has a warden who is of no use scolds the students to death for unnecessary and silly things. But the administor guy(Puneeth) is greta and listens to our problems politely and honestly tries to make our hostel life better.

Alumni/Alumna

Actually seniors are very helpful and they are the ones will guide you to the right path when you are frustrated about all this system. They help you understand what have to learn so as to make a good effect on CV by making a good projects. As of im in a 3rd year i dint have contacted any alumnis asking to get a referral or job openings.

Admission

My cousin referred to me telling college is good.Even though i got better college through CET i got into this college via management seat.I opted for information science as i really liked coding.I got into here thinking that they have all sort of coding clubs and like minded people. But here hardly people think of anything other than academics and enjoyment.

Faculty

3

Faculties are not upto the mark as of now.All the good faculties left. But believe no one is gonna listen to lectures in this class. The students chats themselves creating a loud noise not respecting to teacher's presence and to.whatever they teaching.Usually what happens is students chat themselves creating a noise which ends in irritating their mood causing them to wrap up whatever they are doing(which is certainly useless as the syllabus is shit but have to pass exams) as soons possble.

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement on final year, they have to maintain their grad points in every semister about 8 for a good package. Even some times grade points level down in front of skills and other courses made externally, so skill development is most important. Some of the companies like Wipro, L and T, Isro, Tech mahindra, Skanray, Keynes and so on were their on campus. But our many faculties help every student who is need of a job, with every possible off campus placements. Placment department are trying their best for all skilled, top rank and low rank students for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .
