Top level management isnt the best. This college has a lot of potential but the resources are somewhat under utilised
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 2 internal exams of 10 marks each and projects of 20 marks each subject and rest 60 marks are for external examination for each subject. The subjects are related to travel and tourism sector. The subjects revolve around the tourism sector and also 50% of the subjects are management based subjects. So it helps in getting placements. There are 2 study tours in the 1st and 2nd year of graduation but no industrial visits during the course
Placement Experience
Companies like Arabian nights, Irctc, mp tourism board, satguru travels, taj group of hotels, Thomas Cook, tamarind tours, southern travels etc. Come for campus placement. Nearly 90% of the students are placed from campus placement rest either get placed on their own or they are assisted by the college. There aren't any placement training sessions as such. Although the campus placement percentage for graduates is very low (5-15%) as companies do not hire graduates as most of them leave the company after 1 year for further studies but graduate students are provided assistance by the college to get placements.
College Events
During Freshers there are a no. Of competitions for the freshers batch, world tourism day is also celebrated where students are allowed to sell food on stalls inside the campus and it has a bidding system, janmashtami is celebrated and sports week is also there.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college accepts fees through demand draft / rtgs/neft. Additional fees includes fees for hostel and mess if opted for. Backlog examination charges are also 500rs per subject. Apart from this there aren't any charges and there is complete transparency in fees structure
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship opportunities are offered by the college. Education loan can be taken to get admission in the institution.
Campus Life
Gender ratio must be 6:4 (approx) males over females. Girls and boys hostel are seperate. There are students from each corner of the country and there is complete harmony among the students also there is anti-ragging cell in the college. There isn't any discrimination on any basis whatsoever. Politics is also not there at academic level. Most of the students are from middle class families. There are very few extra curricular activities. Apart from the events mentioned above there aren't any extra curricular activities. Although students can indulge in sports activities 5pm onwards after the classes get over
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees ranges between 5500-7500 per semester, depending on the the centre and type of hostel facility. The hostel is quite nice, it is on triple sharing basis and hostel seats are sufficient in accordance to the admissions taken.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni come for guest lectures and you can interact with them. Also some of them provide internships and jobs as well. The ones working in various companies also help by recommending junior students.
Admission
I got admission through entrance exam followed by group discussion and personal interview. This institution is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism Govt. Of India. It is the best institution for getting profeesional studies in travel and tourism field.
Faculty
In BBA there are around 4-5 lectures (average) everyday. The faculty is young 30-45 years of age and all of them are NET/JRF. Most of them are PH.D holders. All of them have experience in travel and tourism/hospitality sector. There are a number of guest lectures where you can interact with experts of the industry.
