Course Curriculum Overview
There are SIX semesters of taught courses including a summer internship. Total credits for the programmes is 140 which are equivalent to 26 courses. Each credit is of 1-hour classroom teaching in a week and 15 hrs in a semester. For a six credit theory module, 90 classroom teaching and for a practical six credit module 180 hrs field teaching are needed.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent, to be frank in IITTM as it's a national institute being under the ministry of tourism India placements are no doubt this college have the best amongst any other along with the very very decent package. Students need to do a 2-month internship to be eligible for placements, and those internships are provided by the college itself. Companies like FCM, Thomas Cook, Cox and Kings, and Travel Triangle, etc., visit the campus for placements.
Fee Structure And Facilities
1.88 lakhs per year, which sums up to roundabout 3.80 lakhs in two years which is slightly expensive for the normal but looking at the faculty, infrastructure and job opportunities it is of a good investment. I don't find this fee structure expensive as the college needs to take a bit of charge for its maintenance too.
Campus Life
Not much extracurricular activities as the main motive are academics though there are some game facilities for students to keep them active and away from the monotony. No laboratory. The canteen is present with good food.
Admission
Admission completely depends on the merit list, that is, the marks scored in the 10+2 examination. The admission form is available on the college's official website. Candidates need to download it from there and follow the rest of the said procedures.
Faculty
There are very good and experienced faculty members in IITTM who are very motivating and supportive as well. The teaching methods used by faculty in IITTM is very good. The classes have well-equipped projectors for the smart learning of students. They give us practical knowledge too and they give us assignments and give an opportunity to explore ourselves.
