My life at GIET.

My college is best as far as academics is concerned.but if you think of funs and time pass like gf and bf stuffs, sorry this is not your place,it is strictly maintained.

I took OJEE in the year 2013. My rank was not satisfactory, which was 40K in OJEE. I was worried to have such rank, but fortunately i got my seat in GIET, Gunupur that too in my desired branch, Biotechnology. I opted this college only for biotechnology, since there were not much colleges in Odisha offering this course, except government college, which I could not get because of my rank.There happens to be a choice locking appointment for the colleges in odisha under OJEE, and I had choosed this college.

Talking about Biotechnology, we have a lot more scope in future. Research is the best future prospective for biotechnology. The course comprises Microbiology, Cell biology, Molecular biology, immunology, biocemistry, and many more subjects. The lab facilities are good and provides you the freedom to work on your research projects.

No. The college does not provide any internships. but the college allows you to enroll in any internship you have applied for.the college will provide you the travelling allowances and registration expenses.

College provide at least 90% of placement for every student who wish for a job. but the package is not much satisfactory in today's date. it ranges from 3.5 Lc-5 Lc pa. But the training for the placement which college provides, is best and going to help you throughout your career.

Annual TechFest, sports, inter-college tournaments in basketball, cricket and football are being held. Cultural programs, National day celeberation, Festivals are also being celebrated here.Annual Entrepreneurship programs are also being held here.

Fee structure is 1.5 Lc pa on average. For me, it was more than average, but it may vary for different students depending on their financial conditions.if you can manage with your family source then its okay. But, in case you need any Loans, then you have to apply at your concerned bank to provide you the financial help.

No. College does not provide any loans or scholarships. You will have to apply them by yourselves as and when noticed by the college, or else if you find any of them by your own.

There is no racism or disregard towards any gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. All are very friendly and cooperative. Students from different countries like vietnam, bhutan, nepal, etc are being educated without any disregard.There is always room for sports, extra curricular and labs in the college. The only thing matters is how serious the student is.Annual TechFest and various cultural programs are also being organised.

Hostels are average. Rooms are on twin-sharing or triple rooms, with attached bathrooms. cleanliness and hygiene is not a problem here.But the problem you may find is with food. Not much good with taste and quality. Anyway, hostel problems can merely be satisfied anywhere, in my view.They charge Rs.50000 pa, including food and accommodation.

Definitely. seniors were always helpful. They show the forecast of your career. You get suggestions, motivations, information about the DO's and DONT's to be taken care of in future.It is a ragging free campus, with friendly seniors and teachers.

There are 2 semesters per year. 2 mid-semester per each semester. CGPA grading system is applicable on a grade point scale of 10.Academics is strongest part of my college and it is highly considered.extra classes are being held along with remedial classes for students having backlogs.teachers are always there to help and guide students. If there is any holidays which comes uninvited, they make the next sunday as that working day. So, no compromise on classes here. Moreover, you just can not remain in hostel bunking the classes.

Academics being the strongest part of this college, the faculties are very interested and cooperative with the student. you won't feel any difficulties to concern your teacher anytime.Most of the faculties are Doctorate, and many are carrying out their PhD works. There are also teachers who have qualified Master's degree.
