Remarks
MSU requires serious cleansing and renovations. Toilets and such facilities are really poor. And with all its reputation, it should start maintaining the ambience and atmosphere of college too. The faculty members and curriculum apart, there should be serious ice-breaking sessions and more coordination with the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is timeless and I'd say it is one of the best. Exam structure is also pretty good. Sadly, as literature students, we don't have any on-campus placements or field trips. The class strength is too much and often we never know half our classmates. Attendance is not compulsory which makes us a bit incompetent.
Placement Experience
As BA students, we do not have placements or trips. But I've heard that the placement is not bad from students belonging to other faculties.
College Events
Youth fests, festivals, votings and other fun weeks are celebrated, but it is often uncoordinated and half the student body is often unaware of it. Too many student groups and each have their own versions, so it gets confusing and frustrating at times.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees at MSU is the most reasonable I've ever heard, in especially for girls. We can pay online or by cash or by invoices. The only extra fees is for Backlog students when they fill their forms for backlog exams. Other than that, no extra expenses are collected by the University.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I haven't availed any loan or scholarship. I also do not know the criterias or sum provided.
Campus Life
Campus life is like Walking Dead. Half the college is often absent. And the few who do attend are in classes or at the canteens. Too many student groups. No extra-curricular activities other than Youth Fest, which is not that great either considering it is uncoordinated. I had won for essay writing in my first year and when I attended the inter-faculty level, I realised that everyone had already been informed of the topics whereas a few of us came to know right that moment.
Alumni/Alumna
College seniors are actually good. They share their experiences, help us set up expectations. And often they go out of their way to help.
Admission
I chose MSU because it is a renowned institution. I liked English, so BA in English literature was the obvious choice. The online admissions are done beforehand. During the offline admissions, we are to bring copies of our online forms and certificates, on the appointed day according to our percentages, and fill our choice of subjects and pay the fees. In case there's a limit to the number of seats available, we are to wait for the merit list.
Faculty
English department has more than 6-7 faculty members. Each teacher has rich experience, are highly qualified and try their best to handle such large classrooms. They are also approachable, and very good counselors. They have a wide range of knowledge about the world and have new and competitive ideas for the college that they often are unable to implement due to various reasons.
