Ujjain Engineering College - [UEC], BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (ELECTRONICS AND COMM)

Remarks

Yes, it is very old and good college but still there is need of improvement on infrastructure, labs and faculty.

Entrance Preview

I have taken MP-PET in year 2002 and during that time the college allotment was thru this exam only. Have secured rank All India Rank 576. As I was looking for electronics and communication Branch in Govt college, so opted for this college. previously it used to be called Govt engineering college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

the college comes under the university of RGPV (MP) and the course curriculum was relevant and up to the standard of colleges across India. the professor and lectured here were experienced but there is need to increased the count. usually they hire part time faculty for the lectureship which needs to be improved upon.

Internships Opportunities

The college during that time didn't offered any internship as such. what we used to call it was industry visit where the students go to different industry to ask if we can work on some project for few weeks. as it was students approaching there was no stipend also. I have got the certificates from BSNL for the same but practically it was nothing what is called as internship.

Placement Experience

4

There were very few companies used to come in my time in college but yes the placement cell used to provide opportunities in other colleges where companies used to came. As the quality of students was good the number of selection were better. The opportunities were many given by the college and mostly all students were placed in my batch.

College Events

3.5

Cultural events were less in college and the technical paper presentation started in year 2005 where college invited other students to present their papers. There is an alumni meet which happens every year in December where students from different batches comes to college. Culturally there was only annual festival which used to happen but not on great scale.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was feasible as it was government college during my time and yes currently also it is better off in terms of fees with other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college is very old one and thus one can loan very easily from any of the nationalized or private banks. There is scholarship available as per policy of RGPV for needy students.

Campus Life

3

The campus life was very good. made friends for life and enjoyed their companies. The complete batch used to travel for the placement in other cities so every one became very good friends. there was decent gender ratio also except mechanical branch. students used to participate in the paper presentation competition in other colleges. but yes the quality of the students has to be improved upon as it got degraded in recent couple of years.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I was the localized but have seen hostels very closely. the hotels for both boys and girls are separate. there are 2 girls hostel and 1 boy hostel. The rooms in boy hostel are very spacious but yes needs to be maintained well. There were common toilets for boys hostel and rooms were shared by two or three people. The average rent was I think around 700-1000 rupees during my period of study. There were wardrobes available for each student. There were only few rooms available in the hostel and thus students choose to stay outside also.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has been established in year 1966 and there is very strong alumni network with people working on big positions of some good companies. there used to be annual meet mainly in month of December where various alumni comes from different batches for the re-union.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was good and there were internal and external vivas used to happen along with the theory paper which is set by RGPV university. The gaps between the paper was sufficient enough to prepare.

Placement Experience:

I think for 7th and 8th semister students are eligible for the campus placements. The companies like tcs, Amazon, Capgemini, D mart and etc and some other companies. The highest package is about 8 lacs and the lowest package around 2 lacs. The good number of students are placed in the college and like 20 to 40 percentage students have placed in college placements. After getting this degree I will try for a job or I will go for master's.

In our college, placements take place in the final year of the course. By 7th semester, students are eligible to sit for placements. The placement opportunities are quite decent, an average package consists of 5 - 6 LPA every year. Several companies visit our campus like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cisco, etc. Now, startups also started to visit for placements. Highest package has been 72 LPA, and every year in off campus as well, many students achieve high package like 8 - 12 LPA. Nearly 70% of students gets placed, also some students has other plans for their future. About me, I think of going for placements in my final year for which I have started preparation.

College placement are good as compared to other colleges because in recession time only tit college provides placement for our students so college placement are better but if you are hardworking man or women so your package is better so if you take good package so start hardwork or discipline in college academic. This college average package is also better than other colleges like lnct, oriental because this college average package is something 4 to 5lpa and highest package is something 50 lpa. And also very good companies visit our college like TCS, Capgemini,Hcl ,Sap etc and also advantage of college because this college tie up with Capgemini or kpit companies
