Remarks

College management is working well. I would like to say this is one of the very few government hospitals i have seen which are up to the mark when it comes to cleanliness. A few problems here and there are present everywhere. According to me management needs to keep there work up.

Entrance Preview

College is in Maharashtra so you have to appear for MHT-CET. I scored 173 marks out of 200 as this is one of the prime Institutions Industry that you have to score at least 180-185 out of 200 to get admission for an open category student. Also that 2 depends on your state merit list rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

MBBS course consists of 5 and half years including four and half years of learning and 1 year internship. Our college faculty makes you acquainted with the course structure in the first few days only. First third and fourth year are of 1 year duration while 2nd year is of 1 and half year duration. Subjects for the first year are anatomy physiology and biochemistry. Subjects for the second year are Pharmacology pathology microbiology and forensic medicine. Subjects of all 3rd year are ENT ophthalmology and psm. And final year subjects are medicine surgery pediatrics and Obs Gynaec. research programs are started at the end of the first year. From there on Teacher's guide you to present your projects at ICMR.

Internships Opportunities

Yes I got the College does provide internship couese for one year. Current stipend is rupees 6000 per month. It is same in all the medical colleges in Maharashtra. It is decided by the state government.

Placement Experience

3

During internship period you are supposed to learn a lot of things related to clinical aspects and also to prepare for a postgraduate entrance examination. At the end of the internship you have to appear for a postgraduate medical entrance examination. Depending on your performance you will be allotted a seat in a particular branch in a particular college. After you complete your post graduate course you can apply to anywhere in India. During your post graduate course you will be given a stipend of rupees 42000 per month in Maharashtra as per new revised pay scale. After completing your post graduation course you are free to apply for a job anywhere in India or out of India.

College Events

3.5

This College is one of the prime institution in regards to the academics and it is equally active when it comes to the matters of cultural activities. Every year we have two main cultural fests these are Aarambh and Shravansari. this cultural festivals include all the extra curricular activities like singing dancing drama debate symposium painting and other arts. In sports we have many indoor and outdoor sports like cricket. Box cricket, football, lawn tennis, table tennis, carrom, chess. Besides these we also have Academic quiz and entertainment quiz competition also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Current fee structure for each year is approximately: Rs.50, 000 per year. It is a corporate college run by MCGM i.e., municipal corporation of greater mumbai so the fees is decided by the corporation and the university. It increases by some margin every year. In comparison where you have to pay lakhs of ruppees to get a medical fees i think this amount is totally affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are some scholarships you can avail. Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, which provides scholarship to students of open category according to their merit. Narottam Sekhseria foundation provides scholarship to needy and deserving candidates. You have to pass through an interview to get this one. Other scholarships are also available like Nirav Modi foundation, ect. Not to forget there are government provided scholarships for other category students.

Campus Life

3.5

To be frank campus life is quite okay. It needs to be a bit more happening. Its because of the campus area, the hospital load and also the surrounding area. Overall you will definetely enjoy being here. Gender ratio is 50-50. Students studying here represent whole of the Maharashtra and also you will find students from North India. As i mentioned earlier we are good at sports and other extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are provided to all the student willing to apply for hostel. Boys hostel is situated about 2.5 km away from the main college and hospital building at Haji ali. Where as the girls hostel building is in the college campus itself. I would say this college has the best hostel facilities in comparison to other government colleges in maharashtra. You dont have to worry about the food specially in the boys hostel at haji ali. Plus being in mumbai you have a number of options of various tiffin services.

Alumni/Alumna

TNMC global alumni: Is the name of the alumni which helps the hospital, the college as well as the hostel by donating funds. This college is one of those colleges which gets quite a sufficient amount of donation from the alumni. I havent came across any interaction with an Ex-Nairite.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very convenient to the students it is not Only sufficient enough revising but also not to hectic. In each year you have semester and preliminary examinations for theory as well as practical before you appear for the university examination which is conducted by MUHS Nashik. For all clinical subjects you have to go through the post-end examination.

Lectures , practicals , SLMs , PCTs, Prelims, annual exam And clinical postings Make the student very much aware of the medical knowledge That he or she is receiving. Course Curriculum Overview:

The college takes its application of the CBME that is "competency based medical education" very seriously. From second year that is the third semester itself, students have to participate in clinical postings in different departments everyday. During these clinics you get to interact with patients and asses them. Also considering the flood of patients in the hospital, you get to see many different patients and cases during these clinics. Even the more obscure departments like Psychiatry have a variety of patients coming from different places. This allows the students to actually experience in real life, outside of bookish knowledge the sign and symptom presentation of various diseases. This further helps the student to understand and reproduce the theory they've learned better. This is the most important part. Other than that, the professors guide you when you approach them. The other staff is very helpful too like the nurses and ward staff.

Placement Experience:

Students from the second year themselves are sent to the hospitals for posting in order to get more information and to learn new things. The college also provided internships of a year or one and a half years during which the students are paid a stipend of about 15000 to 20000 inr. Nearly 95% to 100% of students get their internship done from the college itself. There is an increase in the money offered by the college based on your knowledge and experience. There are also various pharma companies which take students in their company also the college provides placement in well know hospitals. I want to do further education and get my ms and MD. for which I would try and get bjgmc.
