Sharda University - A Moderate Option

This college is overall a good option. You will get the opportunity to showcase your talent be it dance, singing, sports, or any other extra curricular activity. Only for placements you need to worry a little bit as its pretty low. Overall a good option.

I had given UPTU Entrance Exam. But there no such requirement to give any particular examination to get admission in this college. You can get admission based on your 12th result as well. I choose this college because of its infrastructure and facilities.

I had done B. Tech in Electronics and Communication. The course curriculum was pretty good. All the mandatory subject and labs were there in our course in comparison with other universities as well as they also focused on programming subject as well for the Non IT branch.

As far as College Internship is concerned, The college let us down by not providing us any opportunity for the internship. We had to manage ourself for the internship.

This is the only area where this college needs to work out. This is the main area although they are not providing any suitable or good opportunities. When we got passed out approx. 100 students were having job in their hands out of 1000 students (that too 50 were placed in BPO).

Various technical events used to happen all round the clock over the year in this college. The main event of this college is Chorus. Being the best cultural festival of greater noida. Many Bollywood celebrities, Singers from Bollywood, etc. used to perform in this festival. There is one festival: OJASVAT. Its sports fest that this college organizes and invites various other universities as well.

Its quite expensive as compared to other colleges of state university. Where the other colleges fees are in range of approx. 1 Lakh, Sharda university fees is 1.7 Lakh. If you are not able to pay the fees at once then you can opt for semester wise plan as well but for that you need to run in diff. director offices as well.

No Loan facility was provided till our duration. And scholarship was provided only in the first year of admission based on rank in IIT or you 12th result.

Campus Life in this college was the best point or you say the highlight of this college. Campus life was similar to DU, Amity, etc. Gender ratio was pretty good. It was 10:7. Labs were also quite good here be it technical labs or Computer labs. For sports every there used to be inter college and intra college sports events organized.

Hostel facilities were quite good and up to certain aspects it was very good. Mess food was good and the menu for each day is disclosed earlier itself. Be it taste or hygiene the mess food was good.

There is no alumni network maintained in this college (a sad point i like to mention). However bonding b/w your senior students and juniors is quite good in this college.

Exam structure was very flexible one can say. 100 marks are divided like 40 for external exam, 20 for mid term exams, 40 for internals. Many times there was many scenarios like if student has secured 15 in mid term and got 30 in internals (which was quite easy) then that will be passed even if he does not gives the external external exam (main). However after I have passed, I came to know that the external exam were also mandatory to be passed to get clear in that subject.

Faculty of the college was moderate. Few professors were exceptionally good and few were just moderate. Moreover the main subjects professors like: Microprocessor, Micro controller, Digital Electronics were at the best.
