Remarks

Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC) is a very good option for students with CET marks in their lower 100s. The location is, however, a minor glitch and a deterrent factor. Also, youメll be around a lot of Kutchhis, as the name suggests. Theyメre a cool bunch, overall, but make an informed choice if youメre picky.

Entrance Preview

MHT-CET ie. Maharashtra Health and Technical common entrance test conducted by State board in May 2007.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

We all know how Mumbai University functions. It focuses more on theory rather than practicals and so does Sakec as it falls under Mumbai University. 1st and 4th year papers are checked by University and 2nd and 3rd year by the college itself. It's high time that MU should revamp its strategy.

Internships Opportunities

No they don't. Internship was not a part of the curriculum during our time. So, no question about they providing it.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements are decent. If you have decent percentage followed by good aptitude skills, you most probably will get placed. TCS, Tata Infotech, TechMahindra are the major recruiters offering salaries around Rs. 3.16 lac/year to Rs. 4.8 lac/year. More than 50% placements for all departments with Comps leading.

College Events

2

Nucleus is the technical festival of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC) held in February-March. Verve is the cultural festival which is held around the same time as Nucleus. Olympus is the Sports festival which has cricket, football, volleyball and so on. All these are conducted in the second half of the academic year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

85, 000/- per year. Have heard that it crossed 1 lac last year. This is the only thing that will keep on increasing every year irrespective of the infrastructure because of the private management.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does provide a 25, 000/- fee benefit to selected minority students for which the criteria is to be satisfied.

Campus Life

1.5

The infrastructure is definitely not breathtaking, but is simple and decent.ᅠThe campus is a bit small (way smaller than most colleges, partly due to the fact that the ground is a one minute walk from the main premises) but the quality of the classrooms and labs is quite good. Maintenance is good (except for the ground which starves without grass, however the student community is trying hard to change this). Library is stocked with good number and variety of books.

Hostel Facilities

1

No hostel here.Ah! The so called canteen. hmmm. Sadly, the canteen is shared by the polytechnic and the degree guys, and being small and crammed, it doesnメt really help! The food found is quite decent.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are way too helpful. Also, many seniors have joined the college itself as professors and also the alumni joins the IV every year.

Exam Structure

Attendance is a bit strict at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC). The college generally expects you to keep your attendance above 75%. If you do manage to have your attendance creeping really low, they might just take you to task. It is therefore advised to take the attendance part a bit seriously. Or else if you do know your way up the hierarchy ladder, things might be compromised but a fat chance there for F.E.s and S.E.s (hard luck fellas).

Faculty

1.5

This is one of the few things students say Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC) is good at. The math faculty is brilliant. The other faculties too are decent (at least in the first year, after that it doesn't really matter because you get immune to such things). The electronics faculty is quite good throughout.ᅠThe Computersᅠfaculty is average so is the IT department. Students say some teachers can make life pretty difficult, but thatメs always there.ᅠ

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
