Remarks :

I chose Maharajas college for doing my Undergraduate course because it's the only college in Kerala which provides Degree in Economics Honours. Maharajas is always the best college in my opinion. More than a college it's an emotion. When I say about Economics honours course, it gave me deeper knowledge in Economics and other disciplinaries like statistics, maths, physiology, finance and so on. We were moulded with the almost care and support by our professors. We have also covered the topics that is been dealt by the postgraduates.

Course Curriculum Overview :

They update syllabus after every 4 years. They also provide industrial exposure. We were also allowed to our internship for 14days at KILA Thrissur. There is department library, College library, computer lab, seminar halls and so on.

Class Size : 30Course Fees : INR 6000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

I have done my internship at Kerala Institute of Local Administration at thrissur for 14days. The whole program was done at govt expense and we got certificate after the program.

Placement Experience :

Our college is a govt college which lacks to provide placements but college assures that everyone graduated from Maharajas is eligible to do any job and also excel in the work the do. The alumni of Maharajas college are well known personalities right now. Example MK Sanu, Balendran Chulikad, Simon britto, Changampuzha Krishna Pillai.

College Events :

Maharajas college is govt college which hosted kalolsavam last year. We also have conducted various fests like food fest, college fest and so on. We also host "Shastrayaan "which a special event happen after every 4 years of interval and to watch this people from all over Kerala visit our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Due to caste preference, I was excepted from fee payment. College fees are very low which is affordable by everyone one.

Campus Life :

We always stand top for sports. Our college have free WiFi for students and faculities. We have a college library and each department have separate department libraries. We are equipped with chemistry lab, zoology lab, computer labs, instrumentation labs and so on.

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester, students become eligible for placements ie; at the beginning of second year itself . Students are eligible with a CGPA of 7 for most of the companies visiting Amrita School of Business, Kochi. Most of the banks like Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI BANK etc comes for placement. Also PWC, Deloitte, BNY Mellon etc comes for placement. Many marketing companies like World of Stones, Exide batteries etc will come for placements. Good companies are more coming for placements. Avg package is 6 lakhs and highest is 14 lakhs. Almost 98% gets placed from college.

SEEING STCET THROUGH MY VISION

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
