Student's Review On Maharaja's College, Ernakulam

In kerala only maharajas have my course(B.A honours in economics),my passion to study this college, interactions between student and teacher, subjects of my course, Atmosphere of the college, library is most affected for my studies etc.these are mainly took admission in maharajas college

This course (B.A honours in economics) covering all economics subjects including maths and statistics, Econometrics, indian economy, capital markets, reserach paper,English etc. I think teaching is the best faculty. Because the teaching faculty of maharajas college is very good. they are very supportive for the students. the portions are completed in perfect timings.

I interned in KILA(Kerala Institute of Local Administration ). For the internship all the facilities provided by Maharajas college.(including food and accommodation)So we don't have any bitter experience about internship.

The placement is there. I also got selected through placement only. It is all depends on your efforts as teachers will give you all the best they have, but in placement you are your own. And college do provide internships.

The college is very good in sports arts and other extracurricular activities. boys, girls and transgender students are given equal priority. the college consistantly wins a notable position in the Mahatma Gandhi University kalolsavam.Freshers day, arts day, onam celebration, christmas celebration, diff fests, pg day, college day etc. these are only the list of main programmes. there are lots of creative programmes for the student development.

The college offers several scholarship plans supported by the Government of India. There are many other scholarships which are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and excellence in Sports. I have not availed any of these scholarships but I am quite sure that these are beneficial for the students.

Sports in maharajas college mainly focused on wrestling, soccer, cricket, football, athletic etc. The college library is 135 years old and has a collection of nearly one lakh (hundred thousand) books, including a prestigious collection of rare literature books. The reference section itself has 2000 books.In all departments have thier own computer for further studies,this is very useful to students. Free Wifi is available.

The Maharaja's College Rama Varma hostels include the new hostel for men and the ladies' hostel. The former has 90 rooms with a capacity of 240 students and two tutors; the latter has facilities for only 104 students and one tutor. Nowadays, the demand for accommodation in the ladies' hostel is greater than the availability due to the increase in the number of girl students
