Remarks

First month was very critical but after 2 months the college seems like one of the best not in studies but friendship. It was a lifetime experience studying in that college and i will never forget my college.

Entrance Preview

I went for the AIEEE test and got rank 480657 it was not a well score overall but i got the admission directly into the college without clearing any test and i opt for the B.Tech course ECE.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course structure was as usual not much intersting just like other colleges and i preffered ECE because i heard it has a good faculty and my decision was right about it and when i joined the college the faculty of the stream was pretty good and experienced.

Internships Opportunities

No there was nothing like internship and no stipend also. But after third year the companies for placement came to our college and few students got selected and some were not. Those who were placed are already at a good position now.

Placement Experience

3

After third year the companies start to come and few of our friend got selected in the campus placement and nowadays they are at a good position. But after we passed out i didnt heard anything about placement and all. But when we were in college we attended the job fair which was held in our college premises and nearby colleges were also invited.

College Events

2.5

We use to organise cultural events sports events in every semester and we really enjoyed the fest of the college as we have to perform and sports events was very interesting. In each semester we use to organise cricket, badminton and football. Every stream use to participate in every sports events. It was great.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was good as it was not much expensive. We had to pay around 30000 for 1 st semester and 25000 for 2nd semester as it goes on. So it was quite reasonable and one can afford it. As compared to other good colleges it was less expensive and we use to live outside the college hostel and it was also very cheap.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there was nothing like scholarship in our college and no loan availability was there. There was a very straight forward rule that you have to pay im whole amount for the said sem otherwise if we delay we will have to pay fine for each day delay and we also have to pay the short attendence fine there.

Campus Life

2.5

The place where our college was situated is a less developed area of himachal and haryana border so girls use to avoid getting admission in the college and there were more of boys in the college. Mostly people in college are from bihar region. Campus life was awesome as we have friends in our stream and other stream also.

Hostel Facilities

2

As i have mentiined that we use to live in a rented flat because hostel was not upto the mark and food was also not good. So we decided to leave the hostel after 1 st sem and we rented a flat nearby and use to make the food by ourselves. We were very happy to leave the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

In the first month of college i was not having any friends except my room mates but after i participated in cricket tournament and got the man of the series then i was recognised by everyone whether junior or senior. After that senior helped me a lot in everything.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was very tough as our college comes under himachal pradesh university so paper pattern was very difficult as compared to other boards so we really had to study very hard at that time. For studies it was very hectic and sometimes paper comes out of syllabus. That was very annoying.

Faculty

3

As i told earlier my stream faculty was well experienced as our HOD was very well qualified and he use to teach us 2 subjects which were very important and mainly our stream faculty use to complete the syllabus at time as it gives us time to revise. So we use to follow what our hod told us whether its theoritical or practical.

Placement at JUIT begins from the 7th semester, core branches like cSE see good placements while Bioinformatics has limited on campus opportunities, Most of them opt for higher studies or research roles. I planned to go for job.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
