Sunny's Review On IIT BHU - Indian Institute Of Technology, Varanasi

The College ranks 6th all over India in Engineering Colleges. The best thing that I like about the University is the greenery which is well maintained which boosts college environment with positive factors. Some negative factors like cleanliness infrastructure are still to be sorted out.Before 2012 this college an IT then in 2012 it was converted to IIT and it is a part of prestigious university Banaras Hindu university.

I came to this college through IIT JEE Advance Exam,I got 294 rank in ST category. I opted this college because of its geographic location which is near from my native place.

Course Curriculum is well designed for engineering field moreover also comprises of humanities courses and creative courses and faculty of college is although less as compared to students present but they are self capable in running the university with their great long experience.

Talking about internship as I am in 2nd year so I don't have much knowledge but I had heard lot about interns program from seniors and well known companies like NTPC are also involved in these programs.

Placement and job opportunities are always more for those students who deserves it,although from college perspective there are almost all good companies like facebook, Google,TCS,HP,Wipro,PSU's etc. Which visits college. Previous year from CSE branch one student was offered 2.03 crore package from oracle,approx 67 lakhs to a student of Electrical branch.

All Festivals are celebrated in the college In the Janmashtmi is one of the best festival. Other fests are Cultural fest Kashiyatra Technical Fest Technex Sports fest Spardhaother small fests like shilp different branch fests and many other small branch-wise fest are also there.

Fee Structure is as follows B. Tech- for general category 3.76 lakhs total for ST category 5,086 per semester one time admission fees other than these mess fee is there of Rs 12000 per semester.

Lots of scholarship is provided on the basis of student's academic performance and economic condition,Like Merit Cum Means scholarship in which full tuition fee of student is refunded and he,she can continue his scholarship if each year he,she satisfies minimum grade criteria.Many other scholarship like IOCL etc is provided by others through college. Regarding loan it is provided by the bank available in the campus.

Campus life is full of all type of experiences of life boys are much more than girls hostel parties are enjoyed very well workshops are carried out at regular basis by seniors and Profs. discrimination in any type of regard is not here.

As this was An IT before 2012 so there is not much developed infrastructure but the environment of hostel is awesome. Each hostel is equipped with facilities like garden, water coolers,TV room,table tennis room,badminton court etc. Some new hostels that are being constructed are with very good infrastructure also. For Mess food I must say that this college's mess food is better than other colleges as I heard from my friends of other colleges.

My experience with the seniors had always been good they interacts with juniors as a friend and ragging is not there in college. Alumni network is good they occasionally visits to the college to address junior students they are really helpful to both the college and students. Socially they are always in touch with the college.

Exam structure comprises of 2 class tests each weighing 25% of total weightage one end semester exam and other lab exams in some subjects. One important thing attendance criteria which is minimum 75% for everyone to qualify exam. Labs are done at regular basis one per weak and in later there is VIVA exercise.
