Remarks
I heard from one of my seniors that SRM campus environment is good and have good teaching facilities. To be honest, it was far away from my home and I wanted to spend few years away in peace, so I enrolled in here. In 12th std. I liked electrical topic most so I ended up selecting EEE stream for my B.tech course. In here, faculties are really strict, in a good way.Campus environment is friendly and there is lots of clubs and workshops in both academic and cultural field. I stayed in girls hostel for entire four years, I must say security is good.
Course Curriculum Overview
There was not much updates in syllabus in my session, it was basics and old. But administrations has implemented new syllabus from batch 2018 and afterwards. Usually, there is one or two industrial visits per semester. Faculties are good, some were strict and some were lenient. I came across few amazing faculty, they were knowledgeable, calm and hardworking. R.Palanisamy Sir from Special machine, D. Karthikeyan Sir from SSD, P.Suresh Sir, J.Divyanavmani ma'am, N.Kalairasi ma'am and many more.
Placement Experience
I have not applied for placement.
College Events
There is MILAN, cultural fest, grand one. AARUUSH, HACKTHON, etc., are techfest. SURU is also a cultural fest, more like a dance competition. There is many more smaller festivals going on from time to time.
Campus Life
I love campus infrastructure. It's large, perfectly colonised, and greenery. It has everything except swimming pool. I was so disappointed when I came to know that there is no swimming pool in here. It has good sport facilities,got two grounds and few others for specific sports like basketball courts, badminton courts. There is good wifi connection in entire institute, only if you're staying inside or nearby buildings. I love books and SRM library has pretty much all kind of books and wifi works really awesome in here.
Hostel Facilities
There is two-sharing, three-sharing and four-sharing rooms. M-block is a new hostel with two-sharing rooms, both ac and non-ac. For two people, room is spacious. Booking is done online, better to do it fast or you might not get your willing room. For girls hostels, security is tight. It's better to be on time rather getting nagged by hostel staff. While living in girls hostels, one thing which always bothered me was not having garden/field to take walk past 7'o clock in night. Overall, it's good.
