Remarks

NIT Jamshedpur offers very good placements and infrastructure. NIT Jamshedpur is a very good platform to get good placements. More than 80% of the students got placed in different companies. In hindsight, it can be said that despite its shortcomings, NIT Jamshedpur is a great institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers in NIT Jamshedpur are selected through a rigorous selection process, and most of the professors are well-versed and have several years of experience in teaching. The course curriculum is a bit old and isn't updated regularly, but the variety of technical clubs and events on the campus provide a lot of opportunities to the students to hone their technical skills. There are separate clubs dedicated to programming, automobiles, aero designing etc. All these contribute to the personality development of students in a lot of positive ways.

The two major fests organised in the institute are Culfest which is the cultural fest organised in February and Ojass which is the annual techno-management fest organised in April. Both of them are organised at a large scale and both witness enthusiastic participation of students. The institute attracts some of the best brains in the country every year, and this makes the overall learning atmosphere, a conducive one

Campus Life

Infrastructure is the one aspect in which NIT Jamshedpur lags behind. Classrooms and labs are not at par when compared to other NITs. Wi-Fi availability is erratic. As far as sports are concerned, NIT Jamshedpur has a very strong sports culture with all sorts of amenities available for sports. The institute also has a dispensary that provides free treatment and medication to students

Hostel Facilities

Hostels in NIT Jamshedpur are the best with regular cleaning and maintenance as one can expect. Students have a comfortable time in hostels. Though academic building and labs are not the best, things are bound to change with the construction of the new academic building which can be expected to be functional soon

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

Students from semester 3 are eligible to sit for campus placement. There are even some companies which ask for fresher where student of any semester can apply. The specialised course like CA CS MBA has more placement opportunities. Many companies visits like GARNIER, TCS, GOVERMENT COMPANY _JHALSA. recently around 20 Students are selected in TCS with pacakage of INR 3Lakhs . There is no percentage requirements. Every particular can sit for campus placements. It depends on their skill and ability to impress the interviewers so that they can be placed. Basically there is Group discussion(GD) round and personal interview (PI)round which after qualifying one can get placed in the companies.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

students get placemetns from the 5th semester and are also give training for a month. more company enter my college like tata ,mahindra, honda and etc. if you have good marks in you six semester and you answer the questions correctly , the company may offer you a high package,and you can also demand you package. for mechanical engineers 100%,electrical engineers 75%and other branch68%. i will work in the company after getting the degree

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
