Remarks

MHRD rank of NIT Jamshedpur is lower. However, placements are very good as compared to other NITs like NIT Durgapur and NIT Patna. Everything is good in our institute except teaching standards of professors.

Course Curriculum Overview

Most of the professors in our institute are aged, and that's why they are knowledgeable. But they don't provide us with proper knowledge regarding their subjects. They don't show much interest in teaching us. They just come and spend 15 minutes for attendance and time pass rest of an hour. We just have to copy in the class. The mentality of professors is also not that good. In the semester exam, your answer should be exact just like copy from their notes and paste in the exam; otherwise, one will not get marks. So the quality of teaching of many teachers is not that good, and some teachers don't have knowledge. There is not even a projector in our classrooms. They only use the class board and chalk for teaching. There are almost 20 faculty members in our branch at different posts, including HOD.

Internships Opportunities

The condition is top 2 students may participate for internships on CGPA basis and just interview for 1-2 hours. My friend got internships with a stipend of Rs. 20,000 along with 20-month training. One student from the mechanical branch got an internship here.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are very good as compared to other NITs like NIT Durgapur and NIT Patna. There is a T&P cell office, and students connect from companies and invite them to visit our campus. They try their best for providing placements for every student. MHRD rank of NIT Jamshedpur is lower. Almost 85% of students from the all branch in 4th year got placed including non-core companies like Capgemini, Infosys and core companies.JUSCO visited our campus for placements, and almost 5 students got selected. JUSCO offered salary packages of 7 LPA

College Events

4

Ojass is the largest fest of northeast organised in our college, and most of the students visit and participate in different events of Ojass. There is a fund of 15 Lacs provided by the institute for this fest. Almost 2-3 celebrities are also invited every time during the fest for the entertainment of students. Students are provided certificates and prizes in this technical fest. Cultural fest named Culfest is also organised, and few celebrities are invited. Students participate in a different cultural show. There is a huge crowd during the fest celebration. There are other activities like Phonix, Revanta team, Team rays, Team Dksh, Sankalp NGO for the education of poor students, NSS team. Every student can participate in any activities according to their interest.

Fees and Financial Aid

Some of the scholarships like Tata Cummins, Navodaya student also get scholarships. Other scholarships also provided to students according to their knowledge and eligibility

Campus Life

The infrastructure of our institute is not that good, but continuous progress is going on for structure. New academic building will be completed, and only internal finishing is left.Labs in our branch are very good. Almost all equipment regarding the branch is available. Survey equipment, Geotech lab equipment, fluid mechanics equipment, structure, highway engineering lab, etc., are in good condition. There are M.Tech and PhD students for the guidance of students. The library is continuously improving. New books in a large number are going to be available. Students who prepare for GATE and other exams visit the library every day.

Hostel Facilities

there is a new hostel building named J and K, which is awesome. Each boy has provided a single room with proper facilities for everything. There is a mega mess near the mega hostel, and they are able to provide food for hostel J & K. Mega mess structure is awesome, and even professor visit there and attend the party.Canteen facility is also available here, and they provide good snacks and other food. The infrastructure of the college has been improving as they inaugurated Hostel K for the 1st time and also a mega mess. We faced problem in classrooms regarding lighting and cleaning

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

Students from semester 3 are eligible to sit for campus placement. There are even some companies which ask for fresher where student of any semester can apply. The specialised course like CA CS MBA has more placement opportunities. Many companies visits like GARNIER, TCS, GOVERMENT COMPANY _JHALSA. recently around 20 Students are selected in TCS with pacakage of INR 3Lakhs . There is no percentage requirements. Every particular can sit for campus placements. It depends on their skill and ability to impress the interviewers so that they can be placed. Basically there is Group discussion(GD) round and personal interview (PI)round which after qualifying one can get placed in the companies.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was very fond of mathematics in my intermediate times that's why I chose to do my graduation from BSC Maths Honours. But I chose the wrong college for doing so, which overall ruined my life. After coming to this college, I lost my interest in studies and this is the only thing I gained from this college. So, I would recommend everybody to stay away from this college.
