Remarks
Placements are only good for Btech, Hotel management and MBA. Other fields need improvement in terns of placement. Otherwise it is a good college for students in punjab belt.
Entrance Preview
I took admission on the basis of MET exam by Punjab technical university. I scored around 90 percentile. MBA is the basic requirement to enter corporate world so I choose MBA. CGC (Chandigarh group of colleges) is one of the best colleges in Punjab and they have good placements for MBA, so this was the reason to choose CGC.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good but can be improved further. More research projects should be included rather than theory. Faculty is qualified and good.
Internships Opportunities
A good number of companies came and my internship was at Hdfc bank. Stipend was not offered.
Placement Experience
The placement records are good and many companies came for placement. Some names are Axis banks, RBS Pvt ltd, Spicejet, Naukri.com, Timmy hilfigure, Mandison, Wipro etc. The packages offered are not high, mostly they are around 2-2.5 lakh p.a.
College Events
College festivals are good and nice to be part of. Participation is also good and students are always motivated to take part.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail loan facility but yes it is offered. Scolarship is provided to students who score more than 80% in a semester. The amount per semester for scholarship is Rs 500.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. All the facilities like labs, sports, workshops etc. Are good. College is overall strict and attendence is also followed strictly. Classes are regular and no bunking is allowed.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel room is on sharing basis but the rooms and facilities provided are good. The seats are limited so its in first come first served basis. And the rent of hostel and pg's in surrounding areas are almost equal. So overall hostels are good and safe.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful and supportive. I took help from a senior of mine (Sonali) for all the guidance from start till my placement. Students and faculty all are supportive in that case.
